ReviewNo mention of Yellowstone?

I just burned through the existing 4 seasons and was very impressed. It's not surprising that it is so popular. Sure, it's basically a modern cowboy mafia treatment of King Lear, but it's also much more and great TV entertainment. The story lines and settings are unique, the WY wilderness is gorgeous, and the characters are multi dimensional. Nothing is dumbed down or soft pedaled. Or over romanticized. (Ok, John Dutton's quest to save his ranch is, but without that, there would be no story!) Viewers are taken to life and work on cattle ranches, Native American reservations and casinos, and the halls of WY's state government. Alliances are formed and broken as everyone jockeys for power and a piece (or control) of WY's future.

I just love Bethany Dutton. Now there's an inspirational fictional female character. She is fierce, she is tender, she is smart and she never, ever, backs off or gives in. She's arguably a horrible person, with an alarming vicious streak, but for good reason and as the seasons roll by, you can't help but admire her. And laugh at her triumphs and gasp at her defeats.

It's really remarkable how much the men cry and express what they're feeling. Sure, it's violent. People get beaten up and shot regularly. Sometimes spectacularly. Yellowstone is pretty conventional TV in that respect. But thankfully the camera doesn't linger when sex is initiated for a soft core porn interlude as many TV shows do, and you see more bare male butt than female nudity in any form. Violence against women is minimal, and isn't presented for entertainment value, but as just ugly fact.

Good stuff. It's too bad they haven't even begun to shoot Season 5 yet.

If they're still talking about sapphic lesbians I don't think they're even close to ready to come here. Namedropping ovarit? Yes. Inviting them if they're not ready on their own? No. If they lurk here for a while they will either come around or not and request entry at their own leisure.

"The only thing out there vaguely like that is Ovarit but it's pretty TERFy".

The truly curious will come.

The fact that they don’t realize that the “TERF” label is literally just used by TRAs as a slur against us for speaking common sense that most normal people understand and believe — it’s so annoying lol. 🤦‍♀️ It’s such an echo-chamber that they have never even stopped to think on what circumstances would it be necessary to be able to differentiate between biological females and males who identify as “trans-women”.

They’ll realize eventually that there’s hardly any difference between us and them aside from us just wanting everyone to acknowledge reality and preserving women’s rights. They assume that we lack compassion for those with gender dysphoria, and they’re under the misconception that “TERF” means bigot. :/ One day they’ll get what we’re saying, but it’ll be a while, I’m guessing.

(I still can’t get over how men —both TIMs/TRAs on one side and incels/red-pillers/conservatives on the other— have twisted the word “feminist” to equal “bigot”. Such insanity.)

Same with the "cis-lesbian" terminology. Like, just say lesbian...

LadyLabrysFebruary 18, 2024

They may be using that term because it's the closest you can get to saying "real lesbian" without getting banned.

It's just the term younger people use. You have to realize not everyone is hyper aware of all this online bullshit.

Same with wlw

RandomRhinoFebruary 18, 2024

I mean I agree, but in my experience I just found that women that use "sapphic" are more likely to align with trans ideology, while wlw are often fence cases.

Fair enough! Haven't been active on the lesbian dating scene in quite a while.

Great idea. They might still be in their "terfs are evil!" phase

You can invite them but don't be too shocked if their reaction is extremely negative. It's a long road from "There's no LGB without the TQ" to "I am no longer making excuses for the misogyny and homophobia in the TQ community and I don't want to be around them."

These posters sound like they've started down the path, but they don't seem to be near the end. Maybe I'm wrong.

I think so, it's really important to get people to see there are actually spaces out there that are not trans-infested.

Ovarit has bug barrier sprayed around all the edges, inside and out!

FemmeEtalFebruary 18, 2024

Pssst over here sis!

spiderberriesFebruary 18, 2024

If you haven’t done so already, let me know and I can send them a message!

NastasyaFillipovnaFebruary 18, 2024

I didn't because I am fearful of sending messages from my reddit account

dragonheartFebruary 18, 2024

Oh, they're ready! Even if they're not yet peaked, it probably won't be long before it happens and they'll end up here eventually.

CeiboFebruary 18, 2024

Yes!
