Inspired by some comments, I want to make a post collecting the lies of mostly male writers and regisseurs on TV.
It might not be true for everyone, but fictional media such as TV, movies and books influences our understanding of society and reality. Humans are not smart enough to distinguish between "fake TV world" and real world. I must know - for a whiIe I thought women were just as strong as men because it is presented that way in media.
This is the first lie: women are just as strong as women (edit, lol) men, it's fair when they fight against each other.
Others are:
Women are just as often perpetrators of DV as men.
A lot of deadbeat dads are only deadbeat because the mother hid the pregnany from him for no reason at all.
Men love their wives unconditionally and stay by their side when they get a serious illness.
It's girls/ young women who pursue old men. The men are the ones who try to stay virtuous by telling her he's too old for her, but the woman doesn't accept a "no" from him.
Most johns are nice men who "just want to talk" to the prostitute, no degrading sex acts involved. It's even possible that the john is so good in bed (🤢) that the prostitute doesn't want any payment.
