If anyone wants to see Misogynoir in action check out the backlash Annamie Paul got in Canada, for reiterating the middle ground stance that the Prime Minister also shared.

Absolutely! I’ve been watching story that unfold with such disgust.

An actual upside to the otherwise outdated system of aristocracy, which I normally don't agree with. Democracy sounds great and all until you remember that the 'demos' are largely uninformed, reactionary, easily manipulated, and weighed down with myriad of prejudices, especially the hatred of the female sex.

I was listening to a podcast about Mary Tudor (Bloody Mary), and it came up there. Apparently in her time Protestantism was a progressive stance held by wealthy, educated elites. But regular people were still by far a majority Catholic, so they loved her to bits. It was a major reason why she was able to quash the attempted coup when she took the throne.

This whole situation has really shifted my position on the House of Lords and it's value.

Yet it was the common people who drove every piece of progress in modern history, not lords or bourgeois politicians.

Oh, I agree, and it was the aristocrats in England who stole the commons from the people, something which specifically harmed women a lot, as Sylvia Federici has written about. I'm just glad in this one instance, the public's swallowing whole of this cult ideology and making it totally the law of the land, either through well-meaning ignorance or social contagion or whatever else, is being prevented, it's like how a broken clock can be right twice a day.

Huh, never thought about it like that. House of Lords is like the Senate on steroids in a way....

Less accountability but also less power. However, the last decade or two has proven to me the intrinsic superiority of Whitehall governance and parliamentary democracy/constitutional monarchy beyond every other feasible option.

I have become a big fan of the house of lords. The open debates and communication they had surrounding the sex and gender debates have been amazing and interesting and I am not even from the UK .

Gotta police those women...gotta ensure that they are never able to assert autonomy and control over their own lives.
