If you're uncomfortable with rapey, misogynistic dudebro speak, maybe you don't have a boy brain after all?

redditismisogynisticMarch 12, 2025

Because they think "not all men".

momofreyrellaMarch 12, 2025

Good point!!

shewolfoffranceMarch 12, 2025

I remember seeing an interview with a detransitioner who said she transitioned because she felt she didn't fit in with girls. Then she discovered she really didn't fit in with boys.

camino_medioMarch 12, 2025

Isn't it interesting how this person hears the terrible things that men say about trans people and is upset and stressed by it but unable to speak up? Does this sound like the approach that TiMs use, or would they speak up and put women in their place for hateful speech?

The men that don't like trans people are hateful and get away with it. Women step one cm out of line in advocation of boundaries and get rape and death threats.

FernLadyMarch 12, 2025

No matter what they call each other, women are still treated as they’ve always been treated and men are treated the way they’ve always been treated. Good callout

Irish singer Róisín Murphy got cancelled for comments criticizing gender-affirming care for transgender youth on her personal Facebook page went viral

Despite apologizing, the campaign continued

leading her label to reportedly halt the promotional cycle for her album due out the following week

Murphy reportedly called puberty blockers—a form of gender-affirming care for transgender youth that prevent puberty—“absolutely desolate, big pharma laughing all the way to the bank” used for “little mixed-up kids” in a Facebook comment, which was screenshotted and shared across social media, and urged children to be protected.

shewolfoffranceMarch 12, 2025

“absolutely desolate, big pharma laughing all the way to the bank”

One of the weirder sociopolitical flip-flops in the last 10 was conservatives becoming more skeptical of big pharma than liberals (to the extent those labels mean anything anymore).

DemeterMarch 12, 2025

TiFs that pass around men inevitably discover this. Women have no idea about how men are.. they assume they're like women. People generally assume others are like them. But men don't police each other for pro-social conformity like women do.

SomeoneElseTired Of ThisMarch 12, 2025

TIFs also have a huge disadvantage— fanfiction with gay couples. I know that gets thrown around a lot but here’s the thing: men in fanfiction get written like women because it’s usually women writing them. They’re usually written more charming and interesting and kind. They’re better people in fanfiction because women write them.

So a TIF who identifies as a gay man is usually getting exposed to fanfiction that portrays a soft relationship between two men. She wants that relationship, not whatever men she’s been exposed to. She decides she is the problem because of female socialization— we’re always trained to believe we’re the problem. She transitions in search of that kind of relationship and intimacy.

But men don’t operate like that. Those are men written by women. What she probably wants is another woman.

SarahWilliams_13March 12, 2025

A man in my life once gave me a book, written by a man, that discussed his true feelings about life and women.

It was brutal and gross. One part that always stuck out, likely because of my own insecurities, was he was going to the gym with his girlfriend. He lamented how she only worked on her upper body when her ass was fat and her thighs were too squishy. He didn’t know how to tell her that, and wished she’d get a clue that she needed to skip arm day and dessert.

I returned the book to this person and they were stoked, like- did you like it? Do you understand better where men are coming from? And I was all, yah, it’s worse than I thought.

The benefit of the doubt we give men is projection. The hope we ‘see’ in them, is projection. It’s not there. Most men are never going to live up to the men we’ve been promised, they simply don’t exist.

Dressed2K1llMarch 12, 2025

Ha! Like reading Tropic of Cancer by Henry woman-hating Miller

vulvapeopleMarch 12, 2025

It was so funny to me what a loser he was. Like, he wouldn't eat unless his friends paid.

Dressed2K1llMarch 12, 2025

It explains why he was so angry 😂

samsdatMarch 12, 2025

On a tangential note, I think the reason I have a literary crush on Cormoran Strike is because he is written by a woman, and even though she clearly takes great pains to give him some male stereotypical behavior, he’s a genuinely good person and sees women as human.

Louhinebulous dog whistleMarch 12, 2025

Same here 💀😂

samsdatMarch 12, 2025

I don’t read all those fairy romance novels these days, I read Strike novels and get hot and flustered enough 🤭

Louhinebulous dog whistleMarch 12, 2025

Precisely ahahah. I love the slow burn. Am almost disappointed that something will finally happen in the next book 🤣

samsdatMarch 12, 2025

Same!!

salty-tomorrowMarch 12, 2025

I’m not so sure about that!! My guess is she’s plotting for ten books, so we’ll have at least another book or two of will they/won’t they

Louhinebulous dog whistleMarch 12, 2025

Oohh but! Spoilers incoming... The last book literally ended in Strike confessing his love to Robin, so they sort of need to figure out at least something in the next book. I'm willing to bet they'll also do something but knowing JKR, it's not gonna be some fairy tale happy thing, and will just confuse both of them more lol

We'll see how that goes!

salty-tomorrowMarch 12, 2025

oh I know but based on her pattern so far it’s still going to take them half a book to address it! lol. And Strike has so much baggage and there’s the professional relationship to consider— they won’t just get together after one confession, we will get plenty of angsting from both sides first.

crodishfuck this earthMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 12, 2025)

Nope, it's true. Back then fujoshis understood they were women and were women writing/drawing for other women. Actual gay men are often repulsed by BL and yaoi, which is why they make bara.

The fujoshis today all think fetishizing two gay men in a soft loving relationship means they aren't actually a woman. Despite the very fact that doing so means they are, because that genre is catered specifically for that demographic.

SrfthrowawayMarch 12, 2025

I learned this when I was on a co-op work term in the automotive industry. I was the only woman (I was 20) in the department. I was kind of off in a corner behind a computer so they pretty much forgot I was there. The things I heard those men saying really opened my eyes.

scriptcroneMarch 12, 2025

Hmm. Maybe that’s why men are so hostile to the idea of women meeting without men. They’re afraid of what we might be saying when they’re not there to silence us.

Dressed2K1llMarch 12, 2025

Oh it’s 1000000% the prerogative of religious and conservative men to keep women from discussing how awful men are.

God forbid we reveal the TRUTH about their depravity. They know in their bones that if we knew how much they hated us we would abandon them

PracticalMagicMarch 12, 2025

This reminds me of an ex in the building trade who said he hated the way The Guys talked about women. He was a good man.

crodishfuck this earthMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 12, 2025)

But aren't you a man? Why are you shocked at your fellow men "thinking that way"? Shouldn't you have known, wouldn't that have been one of the reasons you "never felt like a girl"?

Or perhaps - gasp - your female socialization and upbringing shielded you from what boys and men experience as males - and you feel like you don't belong because you aren't male? Because their misogyny intrinsically and unavoidably affects you as a female?

HollyhockMarch 12, 2025

This is actually a pretty interesting experiment she's taking part in. I kinda hope she writes more about it, with details and over a longer period of time. Frankly, it's fascinating to go undercover and really, truly hear what men think of us. Nothing surprises me about these interactions, but I think a book is in order. Would be very, very helpful for all women, not just the TiFs.

proudcatladysubtle standoffishnessMarch 12, 2025

But the entire internet is available. Men talk on there the way they do when we aren’t around because a lot of them really seem to think women aren’t online. We don’t need to do this to understand what’s wrong with them or how dangerous they are.

LavenderskyMarch 17, 2025

what I've found is that women think it's just men talking that way in whatever niche they're in. "What is it about men in the xyz community that makes them so misogynistic?" I'm always like, that's how men are. But if they have a nigel or nigel jr they usually won't believe me.

proudcatladysubtle standoffishnessMarch 17, 2025

LMAO yes!!!! Also stealing “Nigel jr”

crodishfuck this earthMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 12, 2025)

she can just go on r/MtF

or any of the "cis porn" subs

FernLadyMarch 12, 2025

It’s very interesting, the fact that men seem to assume everyone else on the internet is also a man. I wonder if it means something about their thinking? Not trying to be coy or dumb

HollyhockMarch 12, 2025

LOL...so true!

LavenderskyMarch 17, 2025(Edited March 17, 2025)

it was done by Norah Vincent, a male identified woman who lived as a man before the gender woo stuff and wrote all about how hard men have it. MRAs love her. She committed suicide a couple years ago.

PhryneMarch 13, 2025

There was such a book, years ago and long before gender ideology took root. I read it but have forgotten the title; it'd be findable with a bit of digging.

LavenderskyMarch 17, 2025

yes, written by a Nora Vincent. She posed as a man and in her book apparently coddled men and acted like they had it so tough. MRAs now really like her bc she "revealed how hard it is to be a man."

DemeterMarch 12, 2025

When a TiF tells me how they are I'm surprised they didn't already know how they are. But they're young. The other thing I hear is how people accept what they say as the truth and treat them like they know what they're saying/doing and believe them.

crodishfuck this earthMarch 12, 2025

They're so dangerously naive about men, and yet they think they are men. No honey you're just subject to misogyny and wish you weren't seen as less, same as us, just because we're women. The only difference is that we're not that self-absorbed or delusional to think all women are content to "stay as women", or that we must be really dumb to want to participate in our own sex-based oppression.

Eat that big, healthy serving of reality, child. You aren't a man, never will be. Every cell of you is female, even if riddled with testosterone, until the day you die.

Carrots90March 12, 2025

Wow

Maybe you aren’t so ‘male brained’?

WatcherattheGatesMarch 11, 2025

The veil is pulled back, and she realizes now what she has chosen is dreck.

lskiMarch 12, 2025

Yes? This is what men are like. How come a Real Man tm like you didn't know that already?

limoncelloMarch 13, 2025

There is not a chance in hell this person passes. I'm guessing 5'4".

broccolipathsofgloryMarch 12, 2025

The real answer here is that they can't get a boner. But I guess they could pump up their arm sausage.

somegenerichandleMarch 12, 2025

Considering a lot of them grow up in such misogynous cultures, it really makes me wonder.
