I don't normally post on this circle, but this story has been all over the news. A police officer in Las Vegas shot an unarmed man in his own home, who was being attacked by a suspect with a knife. The suspect is being reported in the media as female, but in fact is actually transgender.

When Channel 13 first investigated 31-year-old Alejandra Boudreaux, virtually nothing about her was found — no address, phone number or social media. We discovered it may be because she changed her name 10 years ago in Broward County, Florida. Court records show she changed her name from Robert Boudreaux-Williams to Alejandra Boudreaux.

Maybe the tide is turning, since it doesn't appear that this particular outlet is worried about deadnaming the suspect. Most other media is simply reporting that the suspect is a woman.

Thank you for posting it. I am also heartened by the investigative journalism of this local news outlet. As it should be.

I had no idea there was a deranged TIM involved in this horrible story. He should be charged with manslaughter at the least. Had he not broken into this man's home, the homeowner wouldn't have been shot. He wanted to be shot so he broke into someone's home?? This is who you support, TRAs! Come get your "lady!"

He was booked into jail as a male. So I hope he's in a men's jail. Not sure what Nevada's policy is on that. I have no doubt all the fervent TRAs will want him in a women's prison.

The crime strikes me as particularly male. A biological woman would be much less likely to break into a man's home to begin with, let alone attempt to take him down with a knife due to the strength differential. And while the victim and the suspect had been involved in a sexual relationship, this crime wasn't done in the heat of passion. It appears that the suspect went to the home specifically for this purpose.

This should be at least attempted murder if not felony murder.
