Rape is always wrong, no matter who is the victim. But TiMs are not the only men at risk of rape in prison. Gay men, pretty men, men who look at you the wrong way, your enemy, that guy over there cause he's there... If we follow this logic, all men would have their own special prisons.

Other in this context is being used as an adjective.

Surely using a descriptive word remains the same in any language? He described ‘transwomen’ as being the same as other men. If i didn’t mean the adjective I was using, i would just omit it.
