Oh the humanity! Disrespecting our gender identity! How will we sleep at night? Giving us a private bathroom! It's like racial segregation all over again! How could we ever use a bathroom that's kept free of men, men in dresses, and their cheerleaders? Sounds downright awful...

I have never seen an 11-year old boy in the ladies' room. Boys start going in the men's room way before that, while mum waits outside. Only very small boys who need help go in the ladies' room. I'm pretty sure the cut-off is allmost half that. Around 5-6, perhaps? Nowhere near puberty.
They start school at 5-6. At that point they do actually have to be able to go to the bathroom on their own.
Here it is age 8. Little girls shouldn't have to worry about little boys in the bathroom especially when they're going through puberty
Sure. I guess I was thinking more about the threshold of when other Women would start feeling uncomfortable with a male child accompanying his Mom (or other Female relative) into the wc. You're right that an 8- or 9-year-old boy ought to be well into the habit of using the #boys' room, but, still, I can't imagine that ofher Women would balk at seeing a third-grade boy following his Mom into the loo.

There is literally no reason for why he should be there, so yes, that would be weird. And yes, I do think a lot of women would question it. The only reason we allow males in there, are when they are so young that they literally can't go to the bathroom on their own. A 9-year old definitely should be able to. Unless he is disabled, in which case there will usually be a separate bathroom for him, where his mother can join to help if necessary.
