She's wearing her cap backwards, which is supposed to indicate...something.

In the real world men hold doors open for men all the time.

SrfthrowawayJune 2, 2024

Whoever gets to the door first, or is carrying less stuff, or for other reasons has it easier, holds the door for everyone else. Door holding is not a sex thing omfg these people have to get over themselves.

norman_batesšŸ‘June 2, 2024

Especially those with kids or other family members following behind, because thatā€™s the universally nice and efficient thing to do.

SisterCellophaneJune 2, 2024

Good job showing your daughter that being female is something so shameful that being identified as one is something to fight over...

VestalVirginJune 2, 2024

I hope the daughter is old enough to have noticed that the guy was being polite and her mother is totally unhinged. Then she'll be ashamed to be seen with her mother in public, but it is better than for her to see her mother as role model.

SadeyedladyJune 2, 2024

I said very loud, Iā€™ve got the fucking door! He heard my deep frog voice and got embarrassed.

SmellerbeeJune 2, 2024

The munchkin voice.

Man, she's really self aware and yet also deep into the ideaology. She knows the T is messing up her mental health and giving her rage issues, she's also deeply unhappy and depressed, probably traumatized too. The deep rejection to being seen as a "girl" is deeper then a damn door. Also she has a child so I assume and hope she's an adult woman, yet still associates herself with being called a girl...which is for children.

Despite all that, she needs to take care of her issues. She is responsible for a child and she can't keep taking her issues out on her, or around her. Kids are smart, they know when things aren't right and especially when their parents are messed up. Starting fights in public over minor shit is not the example you want to set.

still associates herself with being called a girl...which is for children

To be fair, adult women get called 'girls' all the time, including to our faces. All our lives.

Doesn't seem like that happened to her in her story, but it does happen a lot, and it's not ok.

OxyToxinJune 2, 2024

Good job teaching her daughter to hate her mother and herself. Still doesn't mean she's a man though.

Roid rage.

crispycherrypieJune 2, 2024

Wow I had no idea that not shaving the hair you naturally grow on your legs made you a man.

She's got the asshole dudebro act down to a fine science. Keep reaching those stars, lady, one day you'll snap at the wrong man and be affirmed by a punch to the face!

CryingInYourInboxJune 2, 2024

I don't think she does. Pretty sure most dudes would think this is little dick behavior

crispycherrypieJune 2, 2024

Iā€™d argue thatā€™s precisely what asshole dudebro behavior is. Confident and secure men donā€™t have meltdowns because someone held the door open for them at Dunkin Donuts.

CryingInYourInboxJune 2, 2024

They literally just say "thanks bro" or ignore the other person

VestalVirginJune 2, 2024

Isn't acting like they have a little dick how most men behave? šŸ¤” Driving big cars, meddling with the car so it is louder than it ought to be, exploding at other men over perceived insults ... eh, seems pretty dudebroly to me.

OnlyHumanJune 2, 2024

How to make your children never want to be around you in public 101

VestalVirginJune 2, 2024

Man holds door open for a woman with moustache and hairy legs and politely tells her to go first?

Huh. Never happened to me, and I don't have my hairy legs on display, most of the time.

(Never been called "madam" by any guy manning a counter, either, but that might be cause I don't live in an anglophone country)

Will men be more polite to me if I inject testosterone instead of being content with the presumably too high amounts my body produces naturally? šŸ¤”

And what the fuck is this entitled asshole complaining about? Dude was just being polite!

If this really happened, she helped educate men on what genderspecials are like. That's a good thing, I guess.

I weep for the daughters of TIFs specifically and itā€™s because of shit like this. How are they going to explain this to another person when they grow up?

The sons and daughters of TIMs can lean back on, ā€œdaddy was a sexist pervert,ā€ but how does one even approach this?

SmellerbeeJune 2, 2024

"Mommy had internalized misogyny."

norman_batesšŸ‘June 2, 2024

Sure, and thatā€™ll get some traction, because at the end of the day itā€™s true. But the traditional ways mothers who hate themselves or other women act by elevating themselves as superior or being insecure within feminine socialization lines is not going to resonate much with the children of TIFs who start roid-beefing with men and throwing tantrums over getting invalidated in their hypermasculinity. That is going to be a small boat theyā€™re put in from the start.

I worry that these kids are going to grow up severely isolated because of this unique stressor experience and theyā€™re going to utterly lack fellowship with each other if the cultural trans phenomenon isnā€™t overtly drawn to a close soon enough within the court of public opinion.

I suppose detransitioners will end up as their closest life raftā€¦

Iā€™m here with my do rag and my post menopausal beard hairs with my hairy underarms and legs wearing pants and a tshirt. Why isnā€™t anyone calling me a man? And I hate to tell this person, but men hold open doors for other men all the time.

TheKnittaSpacePopeJune 2, 2024(Edited June 2, 2024)

Nice role model to your kid. Maybe if you canā€™t cope with the world not playing along with your lies, you should stop expecting everyone to?

EdelgardJune 2, 2024

I don't have facial hair except a small dirtstache

Didn't know that word so I went image searching on google, and it's 80% young men with those embarrassing moustaches typical of fourten year old boys and 20% FTMs who don't even have that, just the kind of fluff you can find on hairy brunette women.

HopefulGuitar1991June 2, 2024

Someone call cps. Who knows how she treats her daughter behind closed doors.

LilacSandwichJune 2, 2024(Edited June 2, 2024)

How does she know the guy at the counter was going to call her 'ma'am'? He told her? She read it out of his thought bubble?

But then he didn't even call her sir. (There's a word used for women who get angry when minimum wage staff don't call them 'ma'am', but I guess if you're a cosplayer upset about not being validated it's completely different.)

I feel like this didn't happen. The guy at the door says the incredibly natural-sounding 'go ahead miss lady' to a woman accompanied by a child? You'd 'ma'am' someone in that circumstance, surely. But I can't figure out why anyone would invent a story that makes themselves sound this profoundly mentally ill.

TheKnittaSpacePopeJune 2, 2024

The ā€˜miss ladyā€™ thing makes it sound like the man wasnā€™t a native English speaker, assuming she quoted him accurately. Which, if thatā€™s the case, is an incredibly rude thing to do to someone who was obviously trying to be polite.

VestalVirginJune 2, 2024

Yeah, if this was a non-native speaker, him taking the time to embarrass himself with not-quite-right English out of politeness, just to be rudely insulted in return makes her behaviour even worse.

(Here, people barely say anything when holding the door open, they just hold it open. The equivalent of "After you" is the most they'd say. Addressing both the woman and the child with "Lady" and "Miss" sounds to me - non-native speaker myself - like excessive politeness.)

Hm. It would be kinda hilarious if the shorter than her guy was a passing TIF and was channeling a stereotypical British gentleman, while she's chanelling a thug. šŸ˜‚

Wsbfom01June 2, 2024

Poor daughter, imagine having an unhinged mother like this, yikes. Sheā€™s putting herself in clear danger, she got lucky that the man just didnā€™t bother with her antics and didnā€™t punch her for not being ā€œgratefulā€.

CryingInYourInboxJune 2, 2024

This totally happened
