I am so confused. Do they actually do "cervical screenings" on them?
Also, do they realize how ridiculous they sound? Have you ever heard an actual woman who's happy or excited about a pelvic exam??
I think if you change your sex from M to F on your medical records then the system thinks you're female, and sends out appropriate reminders. That's all. The fool has received a letter that any woman of the same age receives and thinks he's speshul.
I understand the confusion. They really don't want people to understand what is going on
The electronic medical record will auto generate pap screening to all accounts listed as F and between a certain age range
An ostomy wound can get gonorrhea/chlamydia. (Yes, that way). Also, a rectum and a penis can get HPV,which can cause rectal or penile cancer, so I suppose HPV could be an issue in post op 'neo-vaginas'
Gay men are supposed to get rectal paps, as they can get rectal cancer from HPV
But no, not cervical screening
Edit to add
I found this:
If a person has a vaginoplasty, surgeons usuallyTrusted Source use skin from the penis to create a vagina, sometimes called a “neovagina.” However, this procedure does not create a cervix.
Vaginal or vulvar cancer
According to the Canadian Cancer Society, there is a slight chance of transgender females developing cancer in the tissues surgeons use to create a vagina. However, it states that more research is necessary.
The most commonTrusted Source cause of vaginal or vulvar cancer is the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection that spreads through vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Although HPV usually causes no symptoms, some types of HPV can develop into specific forms of cancer.

I'm glad they don't actually do exams. I'm aware they don't have a cervix, but I was concerned they were doing exams for all "females" regardless.
I have a stoma, I wouldn't really call them ostomy wounds, but that fact is incredibly disturbing. I also don't understand it, stomas have no feeling whatsoever.
Let me guess,
You put 'female' on your demographic information in the electronic medical record at your doctors.
Then, the dutiful electronic medical record sent out letters to all 'female' listed patients between 21 and 65
You are clearly at the age you need your prostate check, but the dutiful EMR will only be targeting anyone with 'male' listed age 45-69
If you put '5' instead of '55' the dutiful EMR would have put out a letter about school physicals
Good job sir, you tricked the EMR
See, this right here is how I know that they are real women just like me! I am always so very excited for my pap smear! I love the cold bulky speculum and the sterile flourescent light in my face while I bare my front hole to a practical stranger. Just so girly and affirming. It's quite sexually charged. Pure euphoria.
Creeping on women, wasting resources that women need...I hope this nasty chode gets a male gyno. His deflation at that would be hilarious.
As someone who had to wait 5 months to get into the gyno, the gyno comment absolutely infuriates me. I made a December appointment with my health system, then called another health system and was able to get August. I called around to random clinics and no one was taking new patients… My clinic closed during the pandemic in 2022 and I never re-established care, my fault, sure, but 5 months is ridiculous for a new patient appointment after being diagnosed with uterine fibroids from a gastroenterology surgeon looking at a CT scan that didn’t even have anything to do with that lol
Just how many referrals like these are happening!? Part of me thinks it never happens but I’m not 100% convinced.
Well, gay men who are habitually receptive partners for anal sex should be getting Pap tests for a type of anal cancer that's caused by the same HPV as cervical cancer (and that progresses through the stages of carcinoma on pretty much exactly the same timeline as cervical cancer), so... there's that I guess?
The ideal situation—for not wasting OB/GYN resources, but also to ensure proper care of these patients—would be to have a urologist handle their appointments under the title of "gynecologist for trans women" lol
They actually have LGBT clinics who are set up and experienced with all this
They do the rectal paps, which most practitioners really don't know how to do.
Rectal paps do NOT look fun
But, no...no. Much better to bother a bunch of ladies and take valuable appointment slots from them
Because when a scared 17 year old girl has a new discharge/skipped period and has to wait two weeks for an appointment
She can at least take comfort that some perv is being affirmed in the appointment she could have had
And a wound specialist. But in an ideal situation we wouldn't have to refer to the doctors as anything but what they actually are.
Why would they feel this way if genitals have nothing to do with womanhood

Maybe not universal, but I always have to psych myself up to not feel it as a sexual assault.
I can't imagine any woman liking that procedure. It's horribly uncomfortable to begin with, and my last one was downright terrifying because thanks to peri-menopause and various bodily changes, I felt sore for hours on end and during the exam, there was actual blood which had me freaking out for a second. My gynecologist told me it's kinda normal for things to get this sensitive. Also, there's something to be done about it, either estradiol or, in my case, suppositories with hyaluron.
Still, I dread the next exam which won't be for another year, but still... argh.
They should start offering women in perimenopause estrogen suppositories/vaginal cream, esp to deal with vaginal, vulvar, or bladder pain. It makes such a difference!
Did you know they can warm the speculum up??? I was so pissed when I found out. Apparently you just have to ask but I had no idea it was even an option
I just had to have an exam to check for herpes so ....no
But on the plus side I'm negative so ig it was worth it for peace of mind
I have heard about these assholes signing up for the pap and pelvic exam, even when non-op
There are 'I heard nobody could find the cervix until it came out that the patient was post-op trans' and I honestly think that is TIM generated urban myth. When you do a pap, you see how the 'skin' changes when you get into the vagina, the vaginal angle is important, etc
Luckily, the only reliable account I heard about was just a very confused and embarrassed older male doctor who pulled back the sheet of a first time patient in stirrups to find...a non-op TIM
The doctor was a professional and told him a rectal pap was still indicated in men who have sex with men, but a different position might be more comfortable.
TIMperv declined the offer
The doctor was 'kind'. He presented the story as him being the idiot and wasn't angry (as I would have been). He said 'poor soul probably just wanted the experience. I should have found a better way to bring up the rectal pap, which he really should get' Doc was old school, probably thinking all TIMs are just harmless self hating gay men. Not realizing this was a straight perv who didn't realize that some older male doctors can have the name 'Leslie'
So glad it was a male doctor that had to deal with this gross dude and not a female one.
Exactly
Though I'd have just proceeded with the rectal pap after saying
"Nurse pls get the scrotum clamps"
Nobody is fooled by TIM "vagina". I've read accounts of men who have had sex with them (BAAAAAAAAAAARF) and they said it's not the same. And these are "allies" not terfy men, since they're gross perverts they still liked it, but they all said it's not the same.
I've also seen doctors talk about how it's not the same, and again, not in a terfy way, just in a medical way.
The only people who say it is indistinguishable are TIMs. It's a delusional fantasy.
There are not enough providers for them to be wasting precious time like that!
Nope
They are parasites
