Being “boyish” is not what makes male people male.
Not being boyish does not make male people less male or more female.
Your father recognizes that you are the same son he had before transition. He is bummed and embarrassed that his son will be wearing a costume and playing a role at his sister’s wedding because he paradoxically believes there is some ineffable part of himself that cannot be authentically expressed without wearing a costume and playing a role.
'Ineffable' has been my favourite word ever since I found it, as a child, when it was applied to God. It's rarely used so thank you for raising a smile.
I honestly don't get these people. At least I understand the "skirt-go-spinny" misogynists, but what's the point of this? I think a good number of them are awkward kids who don't want to be women, they just want to be trans because it's a whole community and a protected class. Like, they don't know how else to have a personality or be interesting or accepted.
Seems like he enjoys getting fawned over. I mean, his sister is putting his male ass front and center at her wedding. If I were the father, I think I'd be a little annoyed with my daughter for being such a patsy.
I wonder if that was his sisters idea or he threw a fit and now he’s maid of honour
Could be, but then it strikes me as weird that his father didn't call him out for that. "You bullied your way into this!" It seems like, when TIMs throw shitfits, they go for the largest audience possible so the target feels especially ganged up on.
It really is just awkward White boys identifying into an oppressed/protected class. This is their only means of achieving any clout in left-leaning circles
Sounds just like someone I know. Said he was a woman, added one vowel to his name, wears sailor Moon T-shirts and that's it 6'3"and identical to before his " transition".
I honestly don't get it.
Gotta clap for the dads of these donkeys - many don't agree or put up with the trans BS at all. Love reading stories of men in dresses being confronted by other men 💖
Saying how it would be awkward, that not everyone knows.
Aunt Sherry to Uncle Herbert: "Why is Tom wearing a dress?" – "Maybe he is pranking his sister."
Talking of pranking, I just thought of a prank one could play on a TIM:
Wait for an occasion for which the TIM will put on full womanface complete with spinny skirt, then get all the men to wear garments from their respective cultures that look like skirts or dresses (kilts, robes, whatever) and all the women to wear trousers.
For extra points, get a man in a kilt to compliment the TIM in typical handmaiden way: "Oh my gosh, I'm so jealous, your skirt goes spinny so much better than mine!"
But I have to ask, am I normal, is it okay to call myself a girl if I still act like this?
No, you're not normal. No, it isn't okay to call yourself a girl, because you aren't one no matter what you act like. Being a woman isn't an act, it's a description of the factual state of being an adult human female, which you, sir, are not. Your dad is right and you should listen to him.
So, this dude has not changed a single thing about himself?
Will he wear a tuxedo to the wedding? Cause in that case, I have no problem with him being the man of honor. I mean, all this stuff at weddings is really just roleplaying, anyway, and if his sister wants him to be there, who cares?
It'd be embarrassing as hell if he put on womanface for the wedding, but it isn't clear whether he has any intentions of doing anything but "feeling like a woman" throughout. (I guess his name might be mentioned, which yeah, that'd be awkward if he changed it to Lilith, but he doesn't seem to be an AGP if his dad never saw him in womanface, so maybe there's hope it is not some embarrassing pornstar name, at least.)
Edited to add: There is of course the problem that he'll likely demand to enter the women's toilets at the wedding venue, but I think it would be giving his dad too much credit to think that was his main objection ...
So he's biologically male, he acts like a male, looks like a male, dresses like a male, but is somehow a woman? In what sense?
Is he going to wear a white dress and propose to his fiance, too? Maybe announce a pregnancy or major illness? Dad's not transphobic because he sees a major disaster on the horizon and is looking out for sister. There's also a possibility that sister asked Dad to do this.
