This entire story is almost beyond belief.
So much wrong. I honestly had to keep going back in the stories to remember who was Tom and who was Harry, who was mom and who was dad.
Jean/ Tom smoking? I hope not in the house with Sheila/Harry who has serious lung problems.
Sheila/ Harry sounds like both a lunatic (Ronald Reagan out to get them?) and a grifter. Finally becoming some kind of minister? Landing in Cottonwood, AZ, another small town. They liked small towns because they wouldn't be invisible.
I know!!!! I didnât even catch that part about Jean smoking with Harry in the house with his lung problems. Absolutely wild story.
Truth really is more strange than fiction if you ask me. This is just evidence of it.
Not enough coffee for what should be a Tom, Dick, and Harry joke thatâs in there somehow.
Thanks for posting these. I was really curious about this couple.
Interesting that Jean did adopt the male name "Tom" at one point, but she was back to being Jean by 2011.
Sheila is survived by her spouse of 33 years, Jean

I find myself suspicious that the "transsexual couple" thing may have been a gimmick to draw public and financial support for Sheila's transition.
Agree that Jean must have changed her mind at some point, going back to Jean and referred to as spouse.
Jeans story is tragic. She said in one of the articles that she was raped by several family members. So no wonder she wanted to try and change her body.
Also I wouldnât be surprised. We all know how deeply caring and empathetic TIMs are.
Jean suffered a miscarriage and he had the nervous breakdown cuz he felt like he should have been the one pregnant, and that Jean wasnât trying hard enough. Despite how much Jean hated being pregnant.
Luckily with the surgery, Jean never had to worry about being pregnant anymore.
Wow what a wild story with some twists! The Star story specifically gives me a vibe of the dad being unhinged
Also it says Jean had 2 kids she lost custody of, before marrying him? So the other 2 kids mentioned (the dadâs first kid, and their kid together) are totally different.. I wonder what ever happened to her first 2 :( Then the other 2 had to be dragged all over the country, sleep in the car, and deal with the confusion of what was going on with their parentsâŚ. in this whole thing, I only feel bad for all the children involved (and that one laundromat owner đ)
Right??
Sidenote. You just reminded me of this. In the first article I posted about this duo, it was said that the eldest daughter was from Jeans prior marriage. It was incorrect. It was from HIS first marriage. Not Jeans.
It was such a wild ride, and yes. He gives me scary unhinged vibes.
This has once again a shown that many TIFs are usually dealing with some extreme trauma, while most TIMs are fetishists or all around deeply troubled people.
Both are mentally ill as hell. And I hope those children and the laundromat owner are doing well. I once again blocked out the childrenâs names out of respect for who they were as children and so this aspect of their past doesnât come to bite them as adults. They deserve that respect.
Oh right I remember it said that about the first kid! I do feel bad for Jean for going through so much, but she also continued the cycle of abuse, just in a different wayâŚ
Thank you for blocking the childrenâs names! They donât deserve to be linked to this
Lol@his misfortune.
Right??? I wish that Jean had gotten the trauma therapy she desperately needed. I hope the children were able to get away and grow up and find peace and healing.
Late in reading this, but thank you for investigating and sharing with all of us. Makes me realize that my family isn't too weird!
Itâs my pleasure. Itâs become kinda fun for me to dig around and find these relics of the past
