DiscussionI'm going to say it, there is way too much focus on TIMS. Meanwhile, women's rights are taking a huge backslide due to regular old powerful white men

I get it, it seems like gender ideology is the most symbolic representation of third/fourth wave feminism's toxic underbelly.

But we really need to look at ourselves. I was heavily involved in many radical feminist communities--and while they often stated that they refuse to associate with male feminists--they would readily associate with male "allies"--those allies often being conservative, right-wing men who despite holding traditional notions of men and women, were readily accepted into radfem groups because of their mutual enemy of "Trans people."

Let's be real--the power TIMS get is not because they are TIMS, it is because they are men. And they make up a very small percentage of men at large, and have very little power compared to white, conservative men.

Second wave feminism has been bastardized. I would rather associate with a trans women who agrees that I should keep my bodily autonomy than a conservative male who hate trans people but also thinks abortion is a sin.

We HAVE to have nuance here. There are VERY valid criticisms of TRAs. But why are we so focused on TRAs at the cost of focusing on very real issues women still face at the hands of powerful men?

I live in Texas, and have literally been sobbing over the fact that I have no power over my body--that some rich white dude decided that he gets to legally say what I can do with my body.

This is happening all over the world, womens rights are being degraded. It happened in MS, it happened in Poland. It will keep happening until we fight back. And yet I see some women APPLAUD conservative figures simply because they hate trans people?

In my opinion, Radical feminism has been co opted, to some degree, by men just as liberal feminism has. Instead of focusing on women's rights and on men in power, we spend all of our time focusing on twitter arguments. That is not the real world. The real world is that I now live in a state where by the time I can tell if I am pregnant I legally cannot have an abortion.

When the news broke, I came here immediately and saw TWO posts about it--this is fucking INSANE news but only two posts? The rest were the same shit--"look at this stupid TIM twitter user"

I want to scream and pull my fucking hair out. I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT TWITTER. I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THESE ONLINE SPACES WHER YOU CHERRY PICK THE WORST OF THE WORST. I WILL NEVER ALIGN MYSELF WITH A CONSERVATIVE SIMPLY BECAUSE WE HAVE A COMMON "ENEMY." In fact, in terms of enemies, Trans people are somewhere at the bottom of the list of MEN AND CONSERVATIVE IDEOLOGY.

I am TERRIFIED AND SICK OF THIS SHIT. Do you really think Dowrkin would spend all of her time on twitter typing zingers to mentally ill people? Or would she be fighting against the very real fucking institutions that are, to this day, trying to take away women's rights?

The technical term is twink, and they can only “pass” so long as they stay very skinny (doable but easy to lose) and young (impossible).

Not just skinny but also wear heavy makeup, watch lighting, take care with angles, and depend heavily on photoshopping/filters

He "passes" only to the degree his photos pass. When you see unfiltered/unaltered photos of him, he's unmistakably male.

His profile is painfully male. He looks a lot more feminine from the front, but the moment he turns his head...ouch.
