MusicRest In Peace Sarah Harding
Posted September 8, 2021 by Future in Women

I just wanted to pay my respects to Sarah Harding, who was one fifth of the band Girls Aloud, the UK’s biggest selling girl group of the 21st century.

Sarah sadly passed away from breast cancer on Sunday 5th of September, at the young age of 39.

Sarah was the real energy and spark of the band, and by all accounts, a wonderful, lovely person. If you are a fan of pop music and haven’t heard of them, please do check them out, start with “Biology”.

On learning of her diagnosis, Sarah wrote her autobiography, “Hear Me Out”. As well as this, she released a song in March, to raise money for the hospital where she received her care. The money raised is being used to fund research into preventing breast cancer among women aged 30-39 who have no family history of the disease.

Her impact on pop music is huge, for fans like myself, but what she achieved while she was so ill is just as remarkable.

This is article from the NME is a really fitting tribute.

On a personal note, I was a big fan of the band, and Sarah was always my favourite. She came across as being the life and soul of the party, yet so down to earth. Girls Aloud had such a crazy, fun vibe, and a big part of that was down to Sarah. She made it feel like we were all invited to the party.

Rest In Peace beautiful rock chick, you are already so missed.
