I am determined to take some time off this site - or at least the news for a while - there is a lot going on in the world that is unkind to women that makes female life hard. I have placed consuming this negative news in the forefront of my mind like an idol.
However, I have also been thinking about that andrea long chu quote that disgusts me to no end, which is "everyone is female, and everyone hates it." I will not let this define my femaleness, not now nor ever. Hating womanhood aids the enemy. So I want to encourage all of us to examine ourselves outside the male gaze and society's constraints. I am starting to believe that true female joy is empowering in the face of those who want us to suffer. What makes you happy to be a woman?
And if you can't think of anything: what makes you happy to be who you are right now even if you think it has nothing to do with your womanhood? By enriching any part of your life, by educating yourself, you are helping to enrich the collective womanhood of earth. Do it out of spite if nothing else. Our victory is shared.
