RantI think I just hate visual media at this point

It’s like no matter what genre of movie it is, what themes are being utilized, the plot, etc. it’s like someone in Hollywood just has an overwhelming need to include some random shot of a naked or half naked women for absolutely no reason at all. I was in the midst of watching “Don’t Look Up” (which I hated btw but that is beyond the point) and by the end of the movie, there’s a montage showing what people are doing as the comet reaches closer to Earth. One of the clips include two people having sex and it’s a full frontal shot of the naked woman’s breasts. Maybe I’m just nitpicking but at every turn, some writer or director just makes a point out of having gratuitous nudity featuring women. You hardly even see the man and it was a very close up shot.

And it’s not even just movies, I went into Ross the other day and while looking for a mug, there was a whole stack of mugs with a woman in a micro bikini printed all around it and on the other rendition of the same mug, she was topless with her hands over her breasts.

Everyone always looks at me like I’m nuts when I complain about it but it’s just like there’s no escaping the constant exposure and sexualization of women. I remember watching the documentary called “Killing Us Softly” by Jean Kilbourne and it discussed this issue. In one of the parts of the series (part 3 I think) she shows a picture of an ad from a mens business attire retailer that showed a man in a suit essentially strangling a half naked woman on the hood of his car with a tie. What the fuck does womens nudity and violence against women have to do with buying a damn suit?

I feel like I can’t even open my eyes at this point without seeing crap like this and it makes me angry that there’s very little I can do about it because most people think it’s normal, it’s feminist, or that I’m being crazy for being so “pressed” about it.
