AdviceYou probably aren't ''old'' (my opinion)
Posted September 10, 2024 by DeafCatMeow in Women

Our culture can be so annoying, where people over 28 consider themselves ''old''. 30 is ''old''. Or 40, which is supposedly ancient.

I think it's ridiculous. Your brain stops maturing at 25, and just a few years after that, into adulthood, you're old?

With pets/animals, I don't consider them old until they actually get old, show signs of advanced ageing so to say. My cat is 9, I don't consider him old because he's still got many years left and he's healthy and active. Honestly, I consider animals (and people) to be old, perhaps, when they're in like the last 20, 25% of their life. And not even always then. I mention animals because of the lack of cultural connotations around age.

I just had to put it out there. I find the self-deprecating jokes sad, when people are over 30.

Well that's a hard-hitting opening paragraph:

Between 2000 and 2006, 3,200 American soldiers were killed in combat. During that same period, in the United States, more than three times as many women died at the hands of their husbands and boyfriends.
