RantThe push normalize intellectual disabilities: malevolent or simply foolish?

I need to get something off of my chest that I have been noticing recently and it is really bothering me. In the US (not sure about the UK and other countries) there has been a noticeable campaign to 'normalize' the intellectually disabled. Here is an example of what I am talking about.

I have relationships with several intellectually disabled individuals and am very close with several of their caregivers. Of course I fully support destigmatizing these people. However, they are uniquely very vulnerable. Do we really think it is a good idea for an intellectually disabled young woman to go drinking at a nightclub? How many women who are in the prostitution or porn industry are mildly intellectually disabled or very low IQ? I suspect there numbers are much higher than the average across the general population.
Of course by knowing some of these families who are impacted, I see where the desire to mainstream comes from. I have personally witnessed well-meaning parents attempt to steer their children into 'normal' responsibilities which are simply too complex to be independently undertaken by a mentally disabled person.
That is the more charitable explanation, but I can't help but wonder about the more nefarious explanations. Is this media blitz funded by employers seeking more low-wage employees to exploit? Interests that want these people deemed independent so they do not need to receive as many benefits from the state? The same people who are pushing the idea that children can provide consent to sex-change chemicals and surgeries?
I suspect the most likely explanation is that this is being driven by the same bozos who push for concepts like carceral feminism, abolishing the police, and a polyamorous lifestyle: progressive elites in academia. Unfortunately many parents and caregivers will buy in because are blinded to the risks involved because of their desire to believe that their disabled child is more capable than they actually are.
Noticing that the stuff trans women were saying was indistinguishable from the things mras were saying was what started my peaking. It all came from “listening to transwomen” though.

This reminds me a lot of the essay I wrote right before peaking. I hope she makes it!

Men in general, no (thus revealing that trans is a sexual-fetish-centered MALE supremacist movement). But lawzy, the amount of hate out there for cis gay men from TIFs—originating from the straight or bi TIFs who've been sexually rejected by gay men (because... well... um... because, like, gay men?).
Just try a search or two for cis gay men (inside quote0s for best results)—you'll find hundreds of long-form jeremiads about the many, many ways in which cis gay men just need to do better and are otherwise just all-around less than. (Loads of them are on high-profile "lgbtq+" media sites, too. Taken together, they could make a pretty good crash course in the sobering reality of what's considered professional LGBTQ+ journalism, for the newly-peaked or still-blissfully-ignorant who might still harbor scraps of the belief that the TQ+ are "marginalized".)
Just like the violent screeds against Women, this is all another window directly into the soul of genderism. The erasure of Women, co-opting of "feminism" and constant glorification of VAWG all attest to the misogyny that's one of the 2 pillars of "trans"—and all the diatribes against `cis gay men (with plenty of their own calls for gory violence) attest to the other pillar: homophobia.
And of course the combination of ALL the worst of both is reserved for Lesbians, the only group of people who are demonized by both pillars of "trans".

Thank you. <3 I posted about some of the bigger fallings-out here. There were ones that were just implied, like social media posts sucking the T dick and saying they hoped anyone who disagrees gets hit by a truck. Like “guess we won’t be catching up over coffee soon”, lol.
I was reading some comments on JKR’s Twitter today and so many of them are about how they admire the freedom with which she speaks and lives. Since shrugging off the oppressive weight of these intolerant relationships I’m feeling that, too.
I feel this.
It is a good reminder that if gender stuff had not come between us, something else would have. While a lot of us fell for it initially (or at least for the “be kind with lies” part even if the “settled science” wasn’t checking out), there’s a type that uses this kind of thing as a social cudgel to keep others in line.
Hate to say that while there are plenty of “fight me, TWAW” wokebros, some of the meanest are other women. They have this idea that they are at the top of a social ladder (maybe for the first time ever) and enjoy reducing “TERFs” to hateful, uneducated bigots. That way, they are allowed to self-define as the opposite of that, be justified in mistreating someone else, and feel like they’ve personally rescued Anne Frank or something.
