DiscussionI am just piggy backing on the 90s thread----what frequent modern trends or attitudes do yoou think is most toxic?
Rampant misanthropy and nilhism and thinking that intelligence is seeing everything as completely meaningless. Sure bad stuff happened in the 80s and 90s, and teenagers and young adults loved listening to NIN and Marilyn Manson----but no one was talking about anti natalism or thinking that humans should just go extinct. I never heard anyone say things like "No one ever does nice things to be nice---but because it makes them feel good" Or if people did say stuff like that, people would have thought they suffered from depression, because thinking like that isn't normal. You don't have to believe in a god to think that life has meaning and can be beautiful. I actually blame these atttiudes for people being more and more blaise about AI---especially in creative feilds.
Thinking instant gratification is wonderful and taking the path of resistance is human nature. No---people used to understand that things take time, and took way more pride in their accomplishments and hobbies. Knowing how to sew, read maps, cook, be handy, create art, use tools, cook, clean, ect ect ect were considered essential. Now it feels like the opposite. I know way to many people that use Doordash constantly and will only eat out instead of actually cook. People get mad too if you tell them that using AI to draw, write, or research is just being lazy. People used to actually help each other out more too.
Imo 4 actually does a great job on occults, so I ended up preordering the pack. Apparently the devs who were leads for Werewolves are also leads for this pack, so I’m really excited!
It's weird, because it sounds like an expansion that should be right up my alley, but ever since they announced that there won't be a sims 5, and that we're instead going to be stuck playing sims 4 in all it's buggy glory forever, I've lost all interest in the game.
They did?? But Sims 4 is so lousy ☹️
It was never that great and has continued to age poorly. They also announced that Project Renee is some awful multiplayer mobile game.

Creatively killing guests was a big thing with RCT 1 and 2. Unfortunately, they removed the ability to do so with RCT 3.
What? You can't do that in 3? Talk about not knowing their audience, lol.
Oh my god I had forgotten about that! My siblings and I used to make the most dangerous roller coasters possible, to see how many park guests we could kill at once 😂
I see... I think I may have played that game once...
But anyway I don't think we will be killing Sims with the Reaper... Just collecting the souls of the Sims that have died and guiding them to the afterlife and stuff...
EA's site said that part of the Reaper's job is to handle disputes between ghosts and other issues that the spirits of the dead may have...
I really hope they make good with this expansion. The preview video actually managed to hype me up! I love the idea of graveyards for my generational stories. And the reaper job might be interesting.
I just hope it isn't an unworkable mess at launch. They told us no sims 5 so quality should be a priority right? T_T
They’re releasing the EP patch on Tuesday and they finally gave modders access to code ahead of time, so I think there’s a really good chance everything is working by Halloween!
Oh wow that's awesome news! Mods are the lifeblood of the sims for me xD
