Which taste do you not like? I personallly have a sweet tooth and I also love bitter tastes (like coffee, dark chocolate), can eat moderately spicy food (but not Asian spicy), but absolutely can't stand acidic food. Like I prefer my coleslaw with oil not vinegar (how can people seriously like vinegar?), I don't like many Russian pickles because they are too sour and if my partner by accident buys oranges that are not sweet - he can have all of them.
Maybe the girl who hates girls stuff just needs to learn that being female doesn't mean you have to act like a Kardashian
EXACTLY.
I actually think maybe, we're close to the tide turning. I cannot wait for the day somebody like Bill Maher quotes a man like Erica Anderson... and refers to him as he. The moment we decide not to treat descriptive language like some kind of nicety is when all of this can finally settle itself.
I did see this...hi Bill Maher's writers you all are here right? Seriously that whole segment sounded like something any one of us could've written. And it looks like one of his more viewed videos so that's something.
Holy Shit. Holy Shit. I can't believe he took out the guns!
He's always been a contrarian when it comes to issues of political correctness. So I'm not entirely surprised he's gone against the liberal collective on the trans thing. Its still fun to watch, though.
I've always liked Bill Maher even if I don't agree with him on everything. Our political ecosystem is healthier with people like Bill Maher in it, who are somewhat unpredictable and, let's face it, rich enough to afford free speech.
Does anyone know what the ratio is now? I don’t have the dislike/like extension😩

Audience approved, but panelists on the dais with him? Wary.
In the long run, the audience is more important. They represent a larger portion of the population -- even if they tend Democratic -- than do the panelists.
I've been in some of those "live audiences" though, and there is a person holding up a sign when the audience is supposed to clap.
I do not fault the practice for promoting what the host wants to promote, and it does tend to fan out logarithmically, and so this clip will reach more people and more people will nod their heads and may even remember the points, because they were underscored by audience response.
Re: applause signs, I don't think that's the case with Real Time, because once in a while his audience responds warily to a joke (and he usually teases them about that and doubles down).
You may be right. I don't normally watch the show, so not familiar with this particular operation.
And, FWIW, I was heartened by the audience response in the clip
I used to watch Maher's show years ago. One of the reasons I stopped was because the studio audience was so goddam annoying. They hooted & hollered at EVERYTHING they agreed with and loudly booed every time the token conservative on the panel opened their mouth. It was so annoying to sit through that I just tapped out. 🤣
In the end it’s what big companies want. If they want us to go back to the 50s and say trans women are the “women of the future” they will (as i’ve already seen this being said some years ago). It’s the money that buys everything. It is the money that is gagging and defanging us to fight.

Check out this Bill Maher statement on trans issue. The audience was 100% with him on this, even enthusiastically. No boos. Maher mainly influences Democrats and liberals. It's as if they were just waiting for someone like him to speak out. The tide may be turning.
He's been outwardly anti trans nonsense for a while I'm pretty sure. I don't follow him closely but I saw he had John McWhorter on several months back touting his book Woke Racism, How The New Religion In America Has Betrayed Black People. I bought and enjoyed the book. The problem is that far left leaning people don't listen to dissent from their own, they just call anyone who deviates from the "One True Belief" a right winger, including John McWhorter, including Maher.
My mom is super progressive and has always been an enthusiastic supporter of the LGB community. She bought into the trans bullshit, but I’ve slowly been starting to peak her. This segment sealed the deal. She agreed with everything he said and then wanted to have a long conversation about thoughts. She’s still in the “I’ll respect someone’s desire to do what they want with their body,” but she’s no longer in agreement that TWAW and is back to supporting single-sex spaces.
Wow, nice work.
