My wife had breast cancer, and was just wrapping up treatment at the beginning of Covid. This past week she had an oncology appointment. They told her she's now cancer free as it's been 5 years, and discharged her. We're so happy! A huge weight has been lifted. There has been much celebration in our household.

That's so awesome! I'm so glad for you and your wife.

I know that feeling. I haven't been wearing breast cancer awareness shirts, but this past October I definitely bought myself a "10 year survivor" tee! It felt great!

I'm so happy for you and your wife!

I need to rant/vent, and let my mistakes be a lesson to anyone else who hears about reportable abuse.

I don't want to share too much info because of the delicate nature of this topic. I recently heard about inappropriate behavior between a teacher and multiple students at a school in my community. Of course I wanted to report it immediately, but the friend who told me this information insisted on speaking to the school first. I figured any reports would be better coming from a parent at the school rather than me, so I agreed. The meeting happened and shockingly (/s), the principal/head of school are dragging their feet. I called CPS myself last night since it was clear my friend was too nervous to do it, and I was tired of waiting. However, I didn't end up filing an official report because I didn't have the names of any of the student victims or their parents, only the teacher. I (stupidly) preferred to give a more detailed report over an incomplete one. The current "roadblock" is that my friend wanted to ask Primary Victim's mom for permission to pass on those details, and now Victim's Mom wants to wait a couple days to decide if she will report it herself. She's welcome to do that, but I am done waiting for permission and will make the call tonight with my husband after he gets off work. I won't tell my friend, or anyone's moms, because the stress that I've put myself and them through over the past few weeks has not been worth it. I should have just quietly and anonymously reported what I knew when I heard of it, while openly encouraging those who knew more to also report. That is the action I will take if I ever hear of this sort of thing again. PLEASE learn from my mistakes. The guilt and stress I feel for letting this drag on for the past few weeks is just awful.

For anyone who reads this, I finally managed to get on the phone with someone who would take a report, and managed to submit one anonymously.

Oh good!

I recently became somewhat active in the radfem spaces on tumblr, and found so many cool, insightful radical feminists and radfem-leaning women on there! There’s so many good posts I’ve been seeing; I really enjoy the format of that website now that I’ve gotten used to it.

Does anyone else here use tumblr? If so, I’d love to follow your accounts (and vice versa if anyone here is interested in following any of my feminist side blogs!) I mostly enjoy reblogging what others post. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to know my tumblr handles or if you’re able to share your tumblr handles so that I can follow! :)

anyone notice that mary cate delvey got a bunch of traction on a post on reddit? https://www.reddit.com/r/ExplainTheJoke/comments/1jfas9d/who_is_this_lady_and_why_would_disney_lose_money/

not TIM related but hey... maybe it will lead a few new people to her. was surprised the TIMs weren't in the comments screeching

Great, so now people have a problem with vellum hair on women? You can barely see that. The misogyny is stark

oddeyecircleMarch 22, 2025

I'm a pale, dark haired woman and this has always been a thing sadly. I was already looking into bleaching my back hair by sixth grade, because I had other girls asking why my back was so "hairy"

HoneycreeperBird LesbianMarch 23, 2025

I too am a dark haired pale woman. I was bullied for the hair growing on my legs as early as age 12. I’m lucky my back hair is softer and lighter, but even then it’s still visible because I’m pale.

The hair is supposed to be there. I’m sorry to hear you were bullied too

I went to an event recently and there was a TIM there whose work was featured, along with many other people's work. at first I didn't realize his work was featured and thought he was just a guest, but I clocked him pretty quickly. I don't see TIMs in person that often, but it really emphasizes how easily they can be clocked if you see them in person.

he arrived with a woman and seemed as if he was towering over her, even though he wasn't extremely tall. he was probably around average height for a man. he had a hunched over posture, probably trying to hide his big shoulders but his frame was still evident.

he had stringy hair like a lot of TIMs and of course, some of it was dyed a bright color. I overheard him speak and he had that weird TIM voice. he had man hands and a lanky man torso, even though he was wearing an ugly dress with a belt to try and define his non-existent waist lol. and, for yet another square on the TIM bingo card, he was wearing a choker too

still, I spoke with some of the other people attending the event and had nice conversations with them so it was overall enjoyable! the TIM's work was some of the worst there lolol

plus, an update about the job I mentioned applying for the other week. I didn't even get an interview, so that's disappointing.

but on the other hand, I found out that the employees there now wear nametags with pronouns. in the past, they just wore uniforms without nametags. the new pronoun nametags also confirmed my suspicion that there's at least one NBIF employee there, and she also had a really ridiculous name - a type of animal.

so idk, maybe this place is leaning more into trans nonsense than I previously thought it did. the field as a whole is very captured by trans ideology, so perhaps it shouldn't be too surprising.

What’s up with the hate towards fat women I see a lot of self proclaimed radfems spewing? I haven’t seen it here but on X and tiktok there’s a few that make fun of fat women. I was disappointed to see MaryCate Delvey do it.

oddeyecircleMarch 22, 2025

Hadn't seen that, that disappoints me too. Where did she do that?

agentdebordMarch 22, 2025
