That chihuahua is adorable and hilarious.

I would love a chihuahua but I worry about the ethics of breeding a dog so small and all the health issues that come with such intensive breeding.

I got myself one of the healthiest breeds there are (Whippet). She does the same weird talking noises as Tina. She is not a toy dog but she thinks she is, and will jump up onto my lap as much as possible, expecting me to support with my hands and arms the bits of her body that don't fit on my lap.

She is more like a cat than a dog. I know there are more "cat people" than "dog people" on Ovarit but if you are a cat person thinking of getting a dog I highly recommend a sighthound like a greyhound or whippet. They don't jump all over you and get in your face like most dogs do, they are much more respectful and gentle, they sleep a lot and they are graceful and elegant. Also they don't smell and they aren't meant to be noisy or licky (except my Whippet missed the brief on those last 2 points).

I am always surprised at how big whippets are. I think I have Italian greyhounds in mind when picturing them. That’s interesting about them being so healthy.

I love those noises Tina makes, she sounds like a cat!

I wouldn’t get a dog (I already have two indoor cats in a bedsit) but I used to think, when I lived in a house, that if I had ever got a dog I’d like a retired greyhound. They become complete couch potatoes apparently. 😄

I’m not crazy about chihuahuas in general but Tina is adorable. 😄

the bit about telling your new pet about your old one is a good idea.

Yes, I liked that. Dunno how it would go with cats, though!

lol. She says she's never felt more judged, so she must not have owned a cat.

Soooo true, lol!

Oh, I think the cats would listen.
