Hi, first post on Ovarit.
My partner just got officially diagnosed with PCOS and while it wasn't a surprise (it was one possible diagnosis from the start) it did take over 2 years to get a firm diagnosis. She's pretty twisted up over it for various reasons, one of which being the length of time it took to find out that yes, this is what the issue is and all it would have taken initially was an ultrasound but instead we've been to every specialist under the sun.
I mostly was wondering if anyone here could give some suggestions for how to best go about being supportive, reassuring and maybe extra sensitive to this? Either as a woman with PCOS or a partner to someone with PCOS, I am doing my best but I don't have a chronic disorder beyond asthma which is pretty manageable. I just want to be the best for her and even though she can usually articulate what she needs she hasn't been as able with this issue. Which makes sense! It's overwhelming I bet.
Also if y'all have any resources for PCOS that you find particularly helpful I would love to be pointed towards them. Occasionally she's been asking my opinion on something but my best resource is basically Google, which she also has, so I don't want to just offer her things she can find herself.
Thanks for anything you can offer.
