Welcome Sisters to Ovarit's Women's Health Lounge!!!
"Woman" is quickly becoming a dirty word on so many of our health support spaces, as important and vulnerable discussions around women's bodies and women's health are derailed in favor of gender trolling and policing. It can be so exhausting and dispiriting; the constant passive aggressive reminders to use "Gender Neutral" language, feeling like you have to walk on eggshells, watching other women get piled on and purged, or you yourself becoming a target of demonization in a space you looked to for support and sisterhood. I am so excited to be opening up this space on Ovarit as a counterbalance to the tsunami of misogyny currently overwhelming women's health spaces.
To inaugurate this space and help build our community, please use this post to introduce yourself tell us a little about your current health journey. Are you a first time mom struggling with post partum depression? Do you have PCOS and are dealing with fertility issues? Are you moving into menopause and having hot flashes that would melt lead? Are you childfree and having trouble finding a doctor that will give you the snip? Are you detrans and struggling with the after effects of T on your pelvic floor? Are you relieved because the biopsy for that lump you found in your breast last month has come back as benign? Please share.
Your voice in this space is important. Giving voice to women's female specific health challenges is important. Since Ovarit is still in beta and fairly small, we have a wonderful chance to build this space with some of the most awesome and passionate ladies on the web, I look forward to getting to know everyone <3 <3 <3
I’m still so mad about the Vagina Monologues
The writer of that play thinks transwomen are women so she can go pound sand.
Ugh
I wonder if she really does?
Not that we can know
We finally got a chance to talk about ourselves and it's already gone
Talk of Vaginas made people uncomfortable because they were so dirty & gross. They should be hidden, not be talked about
….and then suddenly
Talk of Vaginas make people uncomfortable because they are so exclusionary & oppressive. They should be hidden, not be talked about
Except in porn. Then vaginas are fine, always was, always will be. Just they have to be called something degrading. And lesbians must have one. Sorry bedicked women. Men don’t have to see dicks they don’t want to see
