A friend of mine just started teaching at a boy's school, and the previous teacher was a raging sexist and racist. Curriculum is being rebuilt from the ground up, and pretty well anything goes (obviously, given the previous teacher).

What books would you assign teenage boys to read, either fiction or non-fiction? What movies would you want them to watch on days with substitute teachers?

I am looking for stuff for just enjoyment, and for stuff with educational/historical merit. Preferably stuff with the feminism and diversity wrapped in naturally, not as pure philosophy, if you know what I mean.
