Any feminist or people interested in women's writings simply must read The Alexiad. The first book written by the world's first female historian and objectively extremely good and intelligent writer.

Written in the first half of the 12th century by an extremely educated princess, it's primarily a history of the Emperor and the First Crusade from the perspective of the Imperial Roman court. Even if the topic sounds boring people simply must read it for the fact this incredible woman's achievement (and that society's achievement) becomes more widely known in feminist circles.
