FirstMadhumala Chattopadhyay, the woman who made the Sentinelese put their arrows down...!
Posted November 23, 2024 by Femina in WomensHistory

This woman is the first outsider person to have made contact with the Sentinelese one of the oldest and most isolated tribes of the world : https://theprint.in/opinion/madhumala-chattopadhyay-the-woman-who-made-the-sentinelese-put-their-arrows-down/156330/

Some believe that the Sentinelese are descended directly from the very first humans from Africa!

Oof, her last words—edit to add “in this interview”:

“Never ever in my six years of doing research alone with the tribes of Andamans did any man ever misbehave with me. The tribes might be primitive in their technological achievements, but socially they are far ahead of us”.

She is an outsider to their group. I will believe they are socially ahead when I hear that they also treat their own women so well.

This is wishful thinking. Just because nothing ever happened to her, doesn't mean it has never happened to any other woman.

I read this and thought she died. 😅 For others: "last" here is in the context of the interview, Chattopadhyay (at least as of this article's publication) is fine.

Madhumala now works in the mid-level bureaucracy of a central government ministry in Delhi

I’ll edit, sorry about that!
