I had never heard of her or seen her paintings. Now that I’ve seen Galaxy, I understand the abstract expressionists so much better. She was the inventor and pioneer, clearly.
But she had to move away from NYC to live with her husband, so we don’t know about her. So many millions of artists lost to patriarchy.
