Have you read her works? Did you like them?
I have her novel "Akata Witch" which I haven't read, yet.
Locus has published an interview with her that I haven't read yet, either.
I did, however, read her short story "The Palm Tree Bandit" and I loved it! Absolutely recommended, a very feminist tale.
Sir,
There’s no such thing as “trans misogyny” since it’s impossible to be misogynistic to a man.
Hope this helps!
The only way there's Trans misogyny is when a trans person is misogynistic. Funny that they made it one word this time since that's usually against their rules
You know they'd absolutely rage if you played their linguistic games and started talking about "cismisogyny-affected" people.
shouldn’t be used to denote a social group
Once again illustrating that they do not want there to be a group of women that is just women without any men. And again telling women what we “should” or “shouldn’t” do. Fuck all the way off.
Oh, that woman. I'm very sick of her pretending to be radfem (or any kind of feminist really) when all she does is defend LARPing men and blame TERFs for everything under the sun.
Later on in that thread she says
"if someone involved [in the writing of the sign] is enby, either do it for real and find better language to be included or go back to identifying as a woman."
I wish I too could tell people what they should identify as. Alas, I'm an unsophisticated TERF, so when I do it it's a hate crime and I'm an idiot insecure in my womanhood (whatever that means).
I like how she went full circle and ordered enbies to go back to identifying as women. By there logic that should be extremely transphobic but apparently you can throw all existing rules out the window to appease a man's hurt gender feelings when women exist without him.
It's worse than this. I saw that idiot and he's responding to a sign outside an establishment that announces it was founded by an "AFAB" person.
What the fuck is he trying to be included in, there? He didn't found that business.
I swear they just LOOK for excuses to hate on us.
"being reminded that I'm not a woman makes me penis very sad so I'll spew a bunch of cult stuff with some choice buzzwords but what you need to take away from this tweet is really: stop making my penis sad, it's worth more than any real woman on the planet and literally the center of the universe so you available uteruses better get in line... OR ELSE"
Edit: so wtf is actually the trans approved lingo for say a group of TIFs, female enbies and women? How else but afab could you possibly say that? Women is wrong because enby and TIF. In their own logic! So what's left?
There is nothing left. That's the point. Women are not even allowed to exist as an idea without including them.
Hey TIFs, how's it feel to be told even your own PC terms to advocate for yourself is hate speech too? Seems like the only people allowed to use "Afab" in a non hateful way are trancel men who cry they can't get "afab" pussy.
"Women owning things is very hateful towards me, a man."
Also, good thing female isn't a social category, but a biological sex and half the population of the world.
has he considered that maybe the makers of the sign TRIED to “listen to people and use language that isn’t alienating”??
What if the owner is a TIF who didn’t want to put “women-owned” on the sign?
We were told to say AFAB instead of woman or girl or female because it’s exclusionary, but now we have to just magically know that saying AFAB is exclusionary?
P.S. Only people with DSDs should be using AFAB and AMAB anyway, fuck you for appropriating a term used by people with rare genetic conditions.
And here you have an example of TRAs realizing a word they stole from another group didn’t work for them, pretending it’s a dog whistle of a group they hate to blame us for it, and then moving the goalposts yet again.
Btw, I’ve yet to see any of this discourse around “AMAB”.
it's not that hard to listen to people and use language that isn't alienating instead
FFS What about all the women before peaking, respectfully saying they don't appreciate being called "cis". Same with lesbians and being called "non-men". And women of colour who say it's not appropriate to compare trans rights to racism. And on and on that's all ignored by the TRAs
Ok, how about "no dicks, just chicks"? Or "XY free in '23"? "CIS-ters only"?
Scoot along, dude. Not everything has to center you.
And yet TIFs and female NBs still tend to hang around women's spaces, making it indeed a social group. And when TIMs show up, especially in numbers, women tend to drop out because getting creeped on by creepy assholes who want us to fawn over them isn't a good time and there's nothing else we can do about it right now except remove ourselves.
We are not the same. No sematic slight of hand, no histrionics, no guilt trip, no screaming about a genocide that isn't happening, nothing will ever make us the same. Men aren't women, even if you forbid all of the words that differentiate us.
Warning, this thread is highly enraging and disappointing with a few reasonable comments from people who will remind you they hate you if you agree with them.
If anyone wants to try engaging into the twxtter thread, I might suggest insisting you're a "trans woman". Not in the way they use it, but in the way they use trans to mean anything from GNC to surgery, and woman to mean what we mean it.
They promote a "cis v trans" binary with cis meaning someone who agrees with the stereotypes of gender surrounding their sex, and with that definition I don't think most of us are cis, therefore we are all trans. If they press, ask them what trans is.
(Use of the word "identify" literally means what you tell other people you are regardless of the truth.)
They obscured our language and theirs doesn't make sense, so I fully intend to lean into that if i enter the fray. End rant
we've tried listening. We used the words you told us to use. Then you wanted other words. Then more other words.
We are tired of listening, trying to make sense of the jargon, trying to keep up.
Just go play in your own playground and leave women alone. AFAB that is. Just like you told us.
Signed, Actual Women
