I’m not much of a tv watcher but from January to March, I tend to binge watch tv and catch up on video games.
What are you watching, reading, or playing? (It doesn’t have to be gay)
Two minor characters are lesbians- I had no idea going into the show
Drova- (Switch) “pixel art Action-RPG inspired by the grim dark classics of the genre and the mystical allure of Celtic mythology.” I haven’t been playing very long but I like it so far.
How to Talk to Anyone: 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships- I’m an introvert in an extrovert world. The book is a little dated but it has some good tips here and there
How to Develop Advanced Psychic Abilities A very fascinating book about divination, mind reading, and organic portals. The author writes some really good books on witchcraft.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Because why not? I was binge reading the whole series again but I've read the first four books so. many. times. I decided to jump to the last book because I can hardly remember it, and I'm honestly starting to dislike Professor Lupin. That he ended up with Tonks, who he doesn't deserve, still low key pisses me off.
Grimoire of Santa Muerte A book by the same author as the psychic abilities book. Great book for new devotees. Wish I had found it much sooner. I'd recommend it to any lurking witch who is curious about it. It covers her history and common myths about her and her followers, tells you how to set up an altar, and gives you simple rituals and spells to dedicate yourself to her and leave her petitions.
How to Interpret Astrodice Just because divination fascinates me.
Breaking Bad Rewatching the entire show just to try to understand the dynamic between Walter White and Jesse a bit more. I never fully got why Walter seemed to love and hate Jesse like his failure son or something. And Jesse has dad issues so he clings to Walter.
The Sims 4: Life and Death Yes, I've been a simmer since the first installment. The Life and Death expansion has been interesting so far. Sims can become tarot readers, which is cool to me as a witch. They can throw funerals, build cemeteries, write wills, and even been reincarnated into the same family. I've been playing with the Goth family and it's a pity their house isn't big enough for a graveyard. I might put a tomb under the house instead.
Drova- (Switch) “pixel art Action-RPG inspired by the grim dark classics of the genre and the mystical allure of Celtic mythology.” I haven’t been playing very long but I like it so far.
This sounds totally awesome.

I need this book in my life. I'm useless. Especially since I'm going to start job hunting soon.
If you really loved my by Ann Rule right now, favorite true crime book ever. I've read it probably a dozen or so times but I've been staying across the state with my grandma in the hospital so I've needed a comfort thing.
Sometimes a familiar book can be comforting. I’m sorry your grandmother is in the hospital.
I’m reading through the A Court of Thorn and Roses series. I enjoy it quite a bit. Normally I balk at books with romantic elements. It has a bunch of wonderfully complex female characters, and it’s a nice distraction from life.
It tackles a lot of relatable issues which are familiar to all women. Abusive relationships, the cultural brutal oppression of females that certain cultures inflict, being valued only for their breeding abilities, and a character which comes out as a lesbian. Watching the female protagonist grow into a powerful woman is quite nice. Plus fairies.
A Court of Thorns and Roses pops up in my Audible recommendations from time to time. Maybe one day I’ll check it out. Thank you!
Of course! I’ve been listening and I enjoyed the woman narrating on audible. The first book is free. I enjoyed it as a radical feminist. And it was recommended by one of my best female friends who’s also a feminist.
What I really enjoy is the journey it takes you the reader on. The first book is fantastic for setting the stage and building the world, and the second book is where the journey really starts getting interesting.
I don’t want to spoil anything. But I really enjoyed how it incorporated a lot of themes and challenges females everywhere face in a fantasy world and watching her overcome and grow. Even when it’s rough.
There is a female character in the second book whom I absolutely ADORE and was so delighted upon meeting her. She’s mouthy like me.
Even one of the most unlikable female character in the series I still find endearing even if she’s entirely unpleasant.
So the protagonist is straight. And while she receives help from the male romantic interests (there’s more than one) she isn’t saved and dependent upon the males in the story. Which i appreciate the most.
I gag when the story centers around making a female character completely dependent upon the male romantic love interest.
We're watching Silo as well, and are looking forward to Severance. We're also enjoying The Diplomat and Slow Horses. I don't know why I love Slow Horses so much; the characters are despicable but so well written. We always start an evening of tv with a random documentary. Oh, and we enjoyed the holiday Bake Off and Pottery Throw Down.
I've finished a re-issue of a good Martha Wells book, polished off the last book of yet another Tad Williams epic, and was just thinking about trying A Court of Thorns and Roses. Thanks for the recommendation, Metal_Detector!
I'm still loving the minecraft realm I have with some friends. I've been playing Wildmender, and finished My Time in Portia a while ago.
I’m also watching Silo, as well as Dune Prophecy, in which I can never figure out what is going on, but it looks good and centers women, and am awaiting the new seasons of Severance and White Lotus. Already watched the masterpiece that is Severance. Just finished reading Rachel Kushner’s book Creation Lake, as well as Eliot Stein’s Custodians of Wonder, and am currently reading Saroshi Yagisawa’s More Days at the Morisaki Bookshop. Bought, but haven’t yet started in on Ticket to Ride Legends of the West, a Legacy version of the popular board game.
Did you see the White Lotus season 3 trailer? I really liked season 1. Everyone I know that has watched the series loves season 2 but I can relate so much with Armond and dealing with customers. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DrU8ofww-NI
We started Dune Prophecy but took a break because we switched over to Silo. We have a 3 month free trial for AppleTv. I like what I saw of Dune Prophecy. I read the first two Dune books and was fascinated by the Bene Gesserit.
I just watched Dune a couple of days ago and I have been fascinated by the Bene Gesserit, too. Can't believe I haven't come across them earlier. What a powerful sisterhood.
Just started Trumpet by Jackie Kay which has been on my to read list for ages. I’m wondering how loosely interpreted from the real situation it’s based on it is.
Also just got a subscription to Ground News. Been looking for a new news source for a while and someone on here recommended GN. Hopefully it will do the trick.
