I like to respond with more of a factual narration style instead of using Nazi comparisons.
"Save a life, kill a TERF!"
"I think people I disagree with should be executed."
The juxtaposition does the work for you.
OK but some of these comparisons are super weak (or apply to way too many things for the nazi comparison to seem plausible)... "are really into flags"? that's a defining feature of Nazis?
I reckon both messages on this pole are pretty vile, the TRA one is just more crude and explicit.
You can find the poster here on twitter, she says she'll share the picture so others can print it too.
That sticker is great. 😂 You gotta love the fact that irrefutable evidence drives them so crazy, the only thing they can come back with is "I'm gonna kill you!!!!" That's when you know they lost the argument.
I’m gonna need some radfem/terfy sticker shop recommendations. Or even just anywhere that offers image files to print at home.
I don't think anyone should be comparing anyone else to Nazis. It trivializes what happened with ACTUAL Nazis, and says you put TiMs exactly on par with them which just isn't the case. Listed on the sticker are things both groups happened to have done, and not all else nazis did or why they did it. A lot of things listed can be said of conservatives too. Bringing up something as horrendous as the literal Holocaust to make a point about TiMs is dumb. Sorry, it just is. Many different things can be compared this lazily and stupidly, and it's only done so because people will react stronger seeing the word "nazi".
Point taken, but the years of lead-up to actual Nazi power probably looked pretty similar to the woke menace of today. Trans activism is a subset of the woke movement. Nazi ideology taken as a whole was considered ‘progress’. There are definitely parallels in the striving for political power. Mao’s China too.
Fair point. I think it's a response to TERFs being called fascists and Nazis all the time, but we should probably avoid stooping to their level.
I think the original line is "save a life, kill a nazi" and TRAs have been using it with TERF lately, besides calling anyone who criticises them Nazis. But frankly, they are much closer to Nazis than those they accuse of it, and this sticker is probably meant to point that out.
In theory, yes, it's better for oneself to stay on the moral high ground. However, we also have to remember that we (sane feminists) are a minority. Most people are on the moral low ground, some lower than others, and many don't want to move to the high ground even if they recognize that higher ground exists.
My point is that if you want to reach the unwashed masses, you're probably going to get dirty sometimes.
This makes sense too.
No, the TRA's and the general *RA's actually are the same type of social arm of fascism that preceded the rise of the Nazi party, and if the Neo-Fascist elements in our government were to make another power grab they'd recruit heavily from these elements to create a domestic enforcement arm of the military.
They literally are Nazi's in a way that Feminists just aren't and it's fair to point that out.
I think they are quite fascistic in nature. Authoritarian is another good word. But calling them Nazis is a bit dramatic (at least for now). We can revisit when wokies and TRAs start wars and begin rounding people up in camps.
👆The fact that anyone can openly compare anyone else to Nazis without fear is proof we are not dealing with Nazis, and it directs attention away from the actual, literal Nazis among us while downplaying the severity of what Jewish people suffered in the Holocaust.
They can call us Nazis and there’s nothing we can do about that, but that doesn’t mean we should stoop to their level.
Exactly 👆👆👆👆👆
True. But I’d think this is what could be used more as a way to clap back at TRAs who label us as Nazis.
The sticker elicited a chuckle from me, but you’re totally right
Agreed, the Nazi comparisons are tiresome.
