I want to make this a t-shirt. The idea that men wanting to have sex with us gives us power is sooo pervasive. I even watched a DV YouTuber, who I used to respect, “Live Abuse Free” bang on about how Johnny Depp was a victim of Amber Heard and how “she had all the power” in the relationship. I’m sorry. Johnny Depp wanted to bang her. That was all. She didn’t have more resources, Hollywood power, sycophants, fame, money, connections, millions of fans, PR teams, status, knowledge, experience, all the things that bring “power” to a relationship. She had youth and beauty. Any “power” she tried to gain, such as a career of her own, and then exposing an abuser heeped hell on her. Johnny Depp just wanted a lot of sexual access to her.

So. Again, louder at the back, “Men, you wanting to f@ck us doesn’t give us actual power over you.

Gender Critical Feminism

Feminism is the movement to liberate women from patriarchy. We stand up for the rights of women to control our own bodies as individuals and to control women-only spaces as a class.

Women are adult human females. We do not believe that men can become women by 'feeling' like women or 'identifying' as women. We condemn the erasure of females and female-only spaces, the silencing of critical thinking, the cancelling of feminists and critics, the denial of biological reality and of sex-based oppression. We oppose the 'cotton ceiling' and the pressure on lesbians to have sex with men. Women are oppressed to exploit their biological sex characteristics, and women have a right to a movement that is about their own liberation from that oppression. We resist the redefinition of both "women" and "feminism" to make them serve men.
