Sometimes people want to link to anti-feminist content, including misogynistic videos, or reddit threads full of misogynistic comments.

We do not consider these kinds of links to be appropriate for /o/GenderCritical or for /o/WomensLiberation. This is a feminist circle for feminist content, for news and articles that are relevant to feminists, and for discussion posts (text posts that start discussion). Direct linking to anti-feminist content is opposed to our purpose. It literally benefits the creator of misogynistic videos to have more sites linking to them (improving their rankings, free advertising) and more people hate-watching them (views equal money and influence). They make money by creating controversial videos and having people hate-link to them.

If you want to discuss misogynistic content, we expect you to link to an article or post that critiques the content, or to write a text post critiquing the content yourself. You can provide the link to the misogynistic/anti-feminist content in the text post, but you need to be aware that you may be benefiting these people. If possible, it's better to use an archive website and link to the archived version of the content.

Using archive.is or a similar website should be required when posting those links if linking to them is unavoidable.

Archiving has the added bonus of preserving the material in amber for future feminist articles, documenting patterns of abusiveness, etc.
