In this interview, I notice when talking about Elliot Page (in the section around minute 6), he used no pronouns whatsoever, but just started kept saying her whole name over and over.
I have mixed feelings on Russell Brand. I don’t always like his shtick, but think he’s a real free thinker and a critical thinker and I’ve grown to respect that, even in the places where I disagree with him.
I have to believe that if he had drunk the gender Kool-aid, he would have spoken differently here.
He’s bold, and hasn’t been afraid to take on corporate power and Big pharma. I can only hope that he’s at the begging of seeing that it’s Big Pharma behind the gender nonsense (even as he champions individuals rights to do as they please). I can only hope he starts to speak out about it. We need as many voices speaking the truth as possible.

But the article cruelly censors the testimony of a lesbian who was raped by one of these disgusting men, eliding all references to 'he' and 'him'. Her original words (from here) describe a chilling example of what these men do:
The man I went on a date with, unknowingly, was mutual friends with people I knew, he threatened to out me as a terf and risk my job if I refused to sleep with him. I was too young to argue and had been brainwashed by queer theory so he was a 'woman' even if every fibre of my being was screaming throughout so I agree to go home with him. He used physical force when changed my mind upon seeing his penis and raped me.
Even when the BBC are exposing these TIM rapists, they still don't dare speak the full truth.
What??? When I first read this piece I am certain it said "he". I think they edited it after the fact!
The BBC probably has a legal team that demanded it. What are the rules for media in the UK? Would it be considered a hate crime to "misgender" a rapist?
Great to see this article in the BBC, but fuck them for censoring the word "he" and literally changing a rape survivor's pronouns describing her rapist from he to they.

At this point, I'd be satisfied with just using the INCORRECT pronouns in scare quotes : Calling trans woMEN 'she', IOW.
This shouldn't be shocking that BBC made a report on it, but it is. Wow. I really love the fact that they included famous trans YouTubers, because they have an enormous influence on young lesbians. Older people still underestimate how important social media is for the younger generation. We who grew up without the internet just can't fathom it.
And that all of those people didn't respond to BBC reporter... well this silence is worth more than a thousand words.
This is fantastic because when I talk about the cotton ceiling my straight friends think I’ve gone crazy and I’m spouting alt right conspiracy theories. They simply cannot believe that lesbians and bi women are expected to trawl through dick on dating apps. So now I can just link to the bloody bbc(!!) as proof!
It was the cotton ceiling nonsense that peaked me. I honestly thought it was hyperbole and went to research it. I was gobsmacked to learn it was true. I honestly still don’t understand how anyone, anyone thinks it’s okay to force another person into sex. Or that some people apparently believe that make believe extends to female penises.
Only men seem to think it's okay. Men believe they are entitled to sex as a human right, generally speaking.
I still remember the day I realized that men having the “right” to sexual pursuit and access to women’s bodies and being was one of those societal assumptions so implicit that it has become invisible and that most of us can’t even see or articulate it. I think I’m still recovering from that realization.
I'm straight. Learning that lesbians are targeted for not wanting to dare and sleep with men was, along with TRAs saying that if black women are considered women why aren't TIMs women, led to several peaks that culminated in the lid blowing off for me.
That's funny because all they have to do is make a lesbian account on Tinder or Bumble and they will be inundated with TIMs. The proof is there for them to access.
Go listen, online and irl, to the heterosexual men who say they are "lesbians" when they are freely talking among themselves. Read what they say for as many weeks or months as you can stomach it. All of them have already either coercively, or forcibly, raped a lesbian or would at any opportunity. It is ubiquitous. AGP het male trans, which is the overwhelming majority of them, are all rapists. We dismiss, or never get to elicit because lesbians are too terrified, lesbians' experience - which is that raping lesbians is a primary goal for these men.
If people to "get to know trans people" and "educate themselves", this is what they find.

Was genuinely shocked to see this as the most-read article on the BBC this morning! Lesbians have been saying this for so many years now, but this is the first time I've seen it covered by a mainstream outlet.
It is also great that it is one of the top trending articles on Mumsnet; I hope it really does peak a few people. If you've friends on Mumsnet who don't come here it is a great thread to point them at.

I've read that she deleted it preemptively just before the article was published, not wanting to deal with the inevitable backlash.

I've sent a comment in to support the writer. We need to make sure the BBC is aware there is a market for this stuff so they continue printing it.
I just wrote a comment and my character number ended up coming to 1984 (out of a limit of 2000). Lol, what a quirky coincidence considering the parallels between trans ideology and the book. Just thought that was funny.

It won’t last long, the reporter already had to shut her Twitter due to abuse. I won’t be surprised if she’s getting RL harassment too. They make sure she’d think twice before covering the trans community with a critical eye ever again. Reporters worry about their livelihoods.
I was just re-reading that Katie Herzog article a few days ago about the closure of lesbian bars. Herzog has since renounced her beliefs and tries hard to stay away from content that would further flag her as a terf.
