So at work today as I was wrapping up my shift, gathering my items from my locker into my backpack in the women's locker room, a man comes in to use the bathroom. We have some trans women at work, but most of them are respectful and I've never seen them in the women's bathroom or locker room in my two years at the company. This guy, I think a non binary dude, doesn't pass at all. Wears a t shirt and jeans and has short hair, no one would think he's a woman from looking at him - even in a darkly lit room. We didn't make eye contact, I'm not even sure he saw me in there. My company a couple of weeks ago put on a gender neutral locker room and a second gender neutral bathroom. As we all know, these guys don't want a third space, they want our space.
So....what do I do? My company is super woke, and I can't find anything in the employee handbook about what the rules of the locker rooms are.
How do I broach this with HR? What should I avoid saying?
I was thinking I should just ask for clarification on the locker room policy bc I was surprised to see a man come in while I was getting ready to head out. I change in there like 3-4 times a week, especially when I bike to and from work, so he could have come in while I was undressed...ugh this is so frustrating
I truly can't fathom how anyone can read shit like this and think its anything other than sheer stupidity.
I can’t, either. And so many of my allegedly intelligent friends have completely swallowed it.
