I believe it has to do with the rejection of reality, which then opens the door to rejecting morality along with it.
Their whole way of life is "challenging norms" and "subverting expectations." They regularly tell themselves and each other that they're more unique, enlightened, and deserving than "cis" people. They constantly tell themselves and each other that their need to live "authentically" takes precedence over absolutely everyone and everything else. Of course the think they're above common morality.
I think this is what is the most frightening about transgender people: they're doing something so outside the realm of normalcy to themselves that some of them basically translate that into self-permission to do anything they want. They're not following the gender rules, why do those other rules matter?
This is why many trans people seem to have no morality or conscience at all. They change arguments, tactics and standpoints midstride, because none of it actually means anything to them. The only defining throughline is the solipsistic focus on the self, which is the only true and correct thing to them.

So the situation in OP was just a powder keg waiting to explode. An enabling handmaiden in a abusive marriage with a TIM. Two other mentally ill TIMs are dragged into it. And then one of them gets murdered. And the handmaiden falls on the sword to protect her pet scrotes, only to be thrown under the bus and left to rot in jail by them. She spent her adult life pandering to shitty men. And now there's a good chance she'll die in prison because of it. The only silver lining here is that she never had kids with any of the AGPs. But her poor, sick mother now has to live with the trauma and shame of what her daughter did (and the pain of not having her around in her final years)

I love a good creepy YouTube video, so when I saw one of my usual rotation had posted a video titled “The Zizians: The Darkest Internet Cult You’ve Never Heard Of,” it was an instant click because I actually had not heard of it.
I lasted about 5 minutes before having to click out. In those 5 minutes it was revealed that the cult leader was a TIM who:

ANYWAY, let’s talk about Sarah Buzzard. Why do women do this? My theory is that it’s like an inverse of the yaoi TIF phenomenon. She’s attracted to men, but she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with a man because we all know how that goes when you’re female. So instead of trying to become a man and be in a gay male relationship, she finds a “woman” to be in a “lesbian” relationship.

Usually they don’t even show up on the same charts as men in terms of harm done to others, but the levels of sexualized internalized misogyny making the rounds these days in the open air among women is enough to curl anyone’s hair. How motivated I am to tolerate scrote nonsense has declined almost in tandem with my sex drive as I've headed into perimenopause (not that I had a lot of tolerance to begin with). I think socialization plays a role, but it's not the only factor.

I think the most towering psychological difference between men and women is the male propencity towards sex addiction. I don't mean as in, needing lots of different partners, I mean: men will literally kill for their sex drives. It is the most powerful drug to them. Men will literally ruin their entire lives to orgasm once (for example, in a rape, or having an affair, or other illegal thing done for a sexual thrill). Women just do not have this impulse.
So I'm saying, I think you could be totally right about the motive. Breaking the spell of a man's fetish could be what drove him to kill. I've also noticed that most TIMs want to be the only TIM around, as opposed to TIFs, who want to hang out in groups. This is because narcissists want to be the most special person around.

I can understand it when a man transitions after a woman already fell in love with him and/or got married/ had kids with him. But I will never understand how a grown woman can look at those creatures with anything other than veiled disgust. Maybe with the possible exception of the minority who actually look good (Blair White, Hunter Schaffer) but even that is a stretch. It makes more sense to me, for males to look at them.

I thought the motive was jealousy in their polyamorous clusterfuck. I was doing other things while the video was playing though.
I do recall the narrator saying that there was no evidence that Ryan wanted to be called “Emma,” outside of the suspects claiming that. He could just be a dude with long hair that further imbalanced the poly clusterfuck. It is believable he could be as they say, but it’s also convenient to say his death was related to those identity struggles instead of murder.

I’m re-watching the video because I had some different takeaways.
I also didn't expect all the gender nonsense from the title, but I'm also not surprised because EWU doesn't seem to be the kind of channel that's got an agenda to worry about. They generally stick to facts and bodycam footage, and I liked that the narrator made a point to point out that Ryan was a man and there was no way to know if he considered himself trans or not, but that whoever was on the video would use their own interpretation of his pronouns. I was surprised by the True Trans vs tucute angle to the murder, but I also don't disbelieve that was actually Jenn's motive.
OP, you left out the part where Jenn literally killed himself with a gun he had concealed in his handbag while he was being interviewed by police at Sarah's house, and Sarah explaining to the police later that Jenn promised that, if they were ever caught, he'd kill her first and then himself. She seemed fine with that.
I strongly doubt Sarah wasn't an accessory to the point of being equally legally culpable for the murder, even beyond confessing to the crime to protect Whitaker.
I'm also skeptical that Zimmerman was an innocent victim. Not that I think he was killed in self-defense (it surprises me that Buzzard didn't try to claim that) or that he otherwise had it coming, just that, in TIM vs. TIM conflicts, the losing side often comes across as a nasty piece of work in his own right.
TIMs have form for a lot of things: destroying women's spaces by causing infighting among actual women (this seems to extend to bringing out the very worst in the women they've fooled or coerced into associating with them), finding/creating drama wherever they go, being the biggest asshole in just about any conflict.
