ArticleTrans Fertility: How Does Testosterone Affect Egg Health?
Posted October 31, 2023 by [Deleted] in GenderCritical

I've been looking for some specific article and got this one instead. I have to share this amazing piece with you.

This is the link: https://www.familyequality.org/resources/testosterone-egg-health/

This article basically state, in complete amazement and awe, the following statement: Female humans who identify as not-women have - get this - eggs just like any other female human. Isn't it amazing???

I swear to god.

The article does touch on other subjects in female fertility. Like, for example, a TIF, whom of course they refer to as "man", who doesn't take testosterone, or take it but lower the dosage, or had been taking it for a while but stop for a few months, or forgets here and there to take it or doesn't always take it because she ("he") afraid of needles, etc., is capable of getting pregnant. Just like "cis woman" is capable of getting pregnant. Isn't it amazing???

The article also states that "men" who are pregnant have the same experiences and outcomes as "cis woman". It's even emphasized. Females who call themselves men have the same experiences and outcomes as females who don't call themselves men. Isn't it amazing???

You might think I'm exaggerating about the eggs thing. The article speaks about how they had TIF doing egg harvesting and how they managed to harvest as many good eggs as "regular" women, after all. You probably think, wow, so the testosterone had no damaging effect on the eggs, this is something. But let me stop you right there. You assumed that all these 26 TIF were on testosterone at some point. But you assumed wrong.

I am not kidding. The article didn't specify this particular detail, so I went to the original article of the study this article is based on:

To be included in this study, the patient had to identify as a transgender man and have completed an ovarian stimulation cycle for oocyte cryopreservation, embryo cryopreservation, or intended uterine transfer.

No mention of testosterone. But no way these TIF didn't take testosterone at some point, right? Otherwise it's completely stupid and pointless, right?

I kept reading.

A majority of patients (61%) were already undergoing testosterone therapy at the time of presentation, with the remainder planning transition after their assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles.

39% of these 26 TIF had never been on testosterone. You got this? Females who call themselves men but never took testosterone have the same chance of harvesting as many good eggs as other females. WHAT. ARE. THE. ODDS.

Seriously, read the article, and if you have time, read the original study paper too. The sheer stupidly of it. I just can't deal with this.
