Sherer began by insisting that pediatricians practice “personal disclosures . . . in any kind of professional setting,” and disclosed that she is “a queer, cisgender, white, able-bodied woman” who lives and works “in the Bay Area, which is unceded Ohlone territory.”

I'm guessing she isn't handing her house over to the Ohlone tribe anytime soon. Also, she's probably one of those "queers" who is entirely heterosexual

She then suggested that pediatricians not wait until their patients are adolescents to talk to them about “gender care and sexual health” but instead start conversations about “sexual identities” in “childhood.” She also recommended using “updated language,” which pediatricians can learn from their patients. For girls who want male bodies, that new language includes “innie” and “front hole” instead of vagina; “dicklet” and “T-penis” instead of clitoris (a side effect of testosterone injections is clitoral growth, which can be extremely painful); and “chesticles” instead of breasts. For boys who want female bodies, Sherer mentioned “outie,” “junk,” “strapless,” and “bits” as replacement words for penis.

Giving kids cutesy euphemisms for their private parts is gross groomer behavior. How are they supposed to deal with their discomfort if they're taught to treat medical terms like "penis" and "vagina" as if they're dirty words?

When discussing pronouns, including “they/them,” Sherer admitted that “it’s hard,” but said that kids can educate their doctors. “One of my young patients told me: pretend there’s a hamster in my pocket, and you’re talking to both of us. So, if you’re struggling with they/them pronouns, imagine the hamster. Okay? They are a doctor. I like them. This is their stethoscope. Hamster with a stethoscope. Think about it.”

This is both hilarious and creepy. Pocket hamsters? Really?

It is absurd for this to be pushed on children. I hope the AAP is sued into oblivion

If we’re at the point where children are seen as educators of doctors, things are way past fucked. What the hell is this, and when are the AAP going to be taken to task for this attempt at grooming sexual abuse of children?

The language change they’re now recommending goes against basic safety and puts trans kids at greater risk for temporary comfort. Kids are safer from grooming and sexual abuse when they know the medical terms because adults take them seriously when they report and predators are less likely to target kids who can explain what happened to them in clear language. Parents have spent the last 15 years at least in the US being told to use penis, vagina, and vulva instead of stupid shit like cookie and other cutesy terms for genitals.

"I'm guessing she isn't handing her house over to the Ohlone tribe anytime soon"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Excellent point.

I had to read the hamster comment a few times. These people ate ludicrous.

I read somewhere once that all the major donors to the AAP are pharmaceutical companies.

WHY THE HELL are there "donors" to the AAP? Why doesn't it subsist on member dues only?

That's the million dollar question. The potential conflict of interests is not hard to see. But the medical industry here is all about $$$. So they don't care

Walsh, a Daily Wire journalist, asked Forcier why she uses “assigned sex at birth” for humans but not, say, for chickens. The doctor responded: “Does a chicken have gender identity? Does a chicken cry? Does a chicken commit suicide?”

Argumentation on the level of that wise guy in the holy grail by Monty Python... "But what else floats?" "Uhhh very small flat rocks?"

VestalVirginNovember 1, 2023(Edited November 1, 2023)

Sounds like she really hates chickens.

I'm not a vegan, but I am sure chickens do feel sadness, and can commit suicide if kept under sufficiently horrid conditions. (Birds have been observed to pluck their own feathers when kept in too small cages and stressed) The reason they don't commit suicide that often is probably the lack of arms and hands.

But they don't have gender identities because those are a social construct and not natural or inborn.

(They do occasionally act like the other sex, though! In fact, it is pretty common for a hen to start crowing and acting like a rooster when the flock doesn't have a rooster, I've heard.)

A chicken has more moral standing than the AAP and its minions.

It’d probably write a better medical research paper too, given the current shitshow.

Imagine telling conference attendees not to record a session and expect compliance in this day and age.

“I see a couple of confused faces,” Sherer promptly admitted. Perhaps the attending pediatricians had overlooked the unicorn section in their biology textbooks in medical school.

The only thing that will change anything is doctors losing money in court. Trans treatment is too lucrative. It’s a holy grail of medicine, an easy to fake unfalsifiable diagnosis that requires life long drugs and a bunch of surgeries and revisions.
