Gay men angry with Rad Fems for not doing enough about TIFs in their spaces
I just need to vent, here.
First of all, I believe that TIFs abusing gay men online and invading their spaces are shitty. Believe me, TIFs are plenty shitty to women as well, so you don't need to convince me that they're shitty to gay men.
But I've been seeing GC gay men on Twitter complain that rad fems aren't doing enough to help them get TIFs out of their spaces.
A few things:
As a class, gay men undermined women when their spaces were being invaded. Women don't have private spaces anymore. There are virtually no lesbians spaces left.
We lost the battle and are trying to get our own spaces back. It should be easy and common sense, but it's a struggle. If we can't even get spaces like female prisons for our own safety, how are we supposed to clear out your party circuits?
Why aren't you talking to the gay men that threw women under the bus, and brought on these unintended consequences?
You lost your cruising areas. Well, actually, you still have them- they're just not exclusive anymore. Lesbians spaces got so heavily colonized they closed down. If we weren't able to save those spaces, how do we save yours? Again, female prisoners lost the right to not be trapped with male prisoners.
I don't actually take any smug satisfaction that TIFs are doing to you what men have been doing to us for decades now. What they're doing is wrong. For women that do taste a little revenge, I get it, I really do, but it's still wrong.
But FFS, I wish the LGBTQ community as a whole, even the LGB, would take some accountability. The G in particular. Even though there were always handmaid allies in the lesbian community, there was enough destruction that many saw how destructive this was. Since TIFs didn't materialize until much later, gay men as a class were happy to ally with their male bros.
Rad fems can't do a whole lot about TIFs. Are we supposed to show up at gay night clubs and perform a citizen's arrest of them? We wanted to convince them to not transition in the first place, but clearly, we lost that battle because we had no backup. Now we're scrambling for the most basic needs: all female hospital wards, prison cells, bathrooms and changerooms. And that's not even touching sports or representation in careers.
If I bring any of this up, the response is "You just want to blame everything on MEN! FUCK YOU!"
Well, I do think plenty of women have been handmaids, but yeah, transgenderism is largely a men's sexual libertinism movement. A trickle of it didn't go according to plan and gay men got a bit more than they bargained for.
What are women supposed to do about that?
