ResourceDemocrats for an Informed Approach to Gender (activism)
I reached out to the team at di-ag. I believe the topic deserves a new thread, as we approach election season and so many ovarites find themselves hopeless in the face of American politics.
Please understand that I am not a member or organiser with this group and have nothing to offer you beyond this post. Any interested sisters are welcome to read through my post history to (probably) find my position on voting. The fact that I am a conscientious objector does not make me unsympathetic to the many sisters here who continue to believe in our political system. I leave this with no desire to debate the topic, only to pass on the information in the interest of solidarity.
Here is the response I received:
We’re working hard to launch publicly as soon as possible. The fledgling site was specifically (and quickly) developed so that we could have an online presence for the Genspect conference — an audience we knew would be friendly and where we could build on existing relationships. There’s nothing insidious about it. We've purposely asked for the bare minimum of information because we didn’t want people to be afraid to join — just enough to map our members by zip code and keep people updated on our progress. I hope your members will be patient and reserve judgement until they see what we’re about.
DIAG isn’t about a top down organization focused on leaders. DIAG is the power of our numbers. We know the majority of Dems — many of us now politically homeless, disenfranchised, and disillusioned — see gender ideology for what it is, but we’re not mobilized and we’re not organized, so we have no influence. No power. That’s what we want to change.
We have a fairly tight focus on evidence-based medicine and biological reality, but this doesn’t mean we won’t include actions that address the harm to women and girls. “Gender affirming care” is an important focus of our organization and we won’t be all things to all people, but medical “transition” is key to all aspects of the harm this ideology causes. We’ll have resources for visitors (no one has to join) to help people have conversations about sex trait modification and gender ideology with those that are reachable, and we’ll have activities focused on shifting the patently false narrative that being gender critical and against medical interventions that introduce illness is about right wing bigotry or ignorance.
This tactic always works because when you call a handmaiden a trans woman, they interpret it as being called ugly.
Several of my teen daughter’s friends have asked her if I am a lesbian. I am not a lesbian, but this has never offended me at all, and my daughter thinks it’s hilarious. You could even call it an honest mistake — I’m a single woman who sports an undercut, I drive a truck, I wear knee length shorts, and I’m really into college football, so I do give off some stereotypical lesbian vibes! At this point, it’s become a running joke within my family. But it has never once offended me. I just chuckle and move on with my life. This fool should have done the same, but instead she chose to argue with strangers on the Internet, which says even more about her.
I have a similar experience, not about being assumed to be a lesbian, but people assuming I'm Jewish. I have dark hair, glasses, a somewhat common surname among Jewish people and live in an area where there's a significant Jewish population. So people have assumed I'm Jewish before. I even got invited to Hillel in college, lol.
I'm not Jewish. But also I'm never offended by these assumptions because Jewish isn't a bad thing to be, and the assumptions are never malicious anyway...a lot have actually been from Jewish people assuming I'm part of the community.
and no, I didn't convert or anything. I was raised vaguely Catholic by parents who, themselves, were raised vaguely Catholic.
The difference is you clearly don’t think lesbians are beneath you. So there’s nothing to be offended by.

Plus, let's be honest: very young children are actually the ones where telling if you are looking at a girl or a boy is not always easy. That picture she shared could very well be of a boy with long hair. She's kind of played herself there.

At most, what they prove is that he was mistaken for a little girl at birth, so his parents dressed him in girls' clothes and let him grow his hair long.
IOW what they prove is that he has a DSD that caused him to be born with ambiguous-leaning-female or frankly female-looking external genitalia.
Which literally is what most of us have been saying: This is just a man without a dick, not a woman. Get him out of women's sports.

I noticed during the XY Olympic boxer scandal suddenly all the TRAs were using the words “biological woman” and “biological female” which is funny because when terves say “biological” anything we’re accused of genocide.

I'm with you - and I honestly think this is a huge part of why so many boys are becoming TIMs. I have teenagers and when you hear all day long how cis white hetero men are garbage... well, why wouldn't you identify out of that?
Because, well, they can just look around at all of western society and see that those same men are on top? Are doing great financially? Have professional opportunities and doors opened to them that everybody else lacks or has to fight tooth and nail for? I mean, I could probably be convinced to put up with a little name calling for that.
