NYT/Siena poll: Biden has lost female support
I don’t see any threads about this topic, which surprises me because I think it’s a big deal.

Key finding is that Biden has just as much support among women as Trump does, both at 46%. This is shocking when you compare this to 2020, when Biden received 57% of the female vote. A drop this significant is stunning.
Historically there has been a sizable difference in male and female support for Republican candidates. That gap is now almost gone, with men and women supporting Trump at 49% and 46% respectively.
How are diehard Biden voters processing this? They are in denial, as you might expect. Like this blog dedicated to convincing everyone there must be something wrong with the poll because the results are so surprising (https://statuskuo.substack.com/p/status-report-about-that-poll). The author makes this idiotic point:
If you see a poll and half the women are voting for Trump, something went wrong in the polling sample. If women voted like they did in 2020, which we should assume would at least be the case especially since Dobbs, that’s an 11 point difference from this poll.
Girls and boys, this is called begging the question. It requires us to accept as fact that the only issue women care about is abortion. But what if—and I know this is crazy but hear me out—women rightly see that Biden can’t do anything about abortion anymore? Dobbs is a ship that has already sailed. So why should this earn him our vote when he’s actively working to take away our other hard fought rights?
I have to admit I feel vindicated by this poll because I don’t believe the women who post here and Lipstick Alley are outliers. There are a lot of American women who are pissed at Biden right now. The poll is confirming my sense of reality is not delusional.
