This is inspired by a Reddit post on the ftm subreddit (the poster is the real deal I double checked her profile—pictures and everything) but this is more about a greater issue that I’ve been noticing for a while.

I don’t know how much you guys know about “packers,” but they’re basically the TIF equivalent of fake boobs. They’re things you can buy and stuff in your pants that simulate the look of a penis, and they usually replace socks (similar to how silicon breasts replace tissues). They can be crochet, silicon whatever. I seem to recall a website that sold packers in smaller sizes for young children (I never personally verified this website so it could be true or not).

I find this especially disturbing for a number of reasons. At least with breasts, there’s more of a likelihood that people are going to be looking/seeing your chest inadvertently. And breasts are secondary sexual characteristics but they’re not genitalia. Breasts can be quick indicators of sex and if they’re large enough naturally are hard to conceal completely, but if done correctly, a penis should not be visible in everyday clothes

As I’m sure you might guess, a lot of TIFs overdo their packers so that they have these great big honking “penises” shoved into their pants and they often look like they have at least a semi-erection because the material used is stiff typically. Especially when it’s a huge penis on a 5’2 “man.” Which is bizarre. It’s sexually aggressive in a way that having big breasts aren’t. And I think it speaks to the different mentalities of TIMs and TIFs: TIMs want to be seen as sexual objects of desire and TIFs want to be seen as… well, having a big and half hard penis. I almost wonder if it’s sort of weird female compensation: breasts are a natural and very visible indicator of femaleness so she’s trying to produce the male equivalent?

What makes this post noteworthy is that the TIF says her father requested she take the packer out for a ten year old’s birthday party which sounds like a troll but it’s really not this time. The TIF gets defensive and cries (of course) and asks him why he’s even looking there.

If you don’t want people to look there, why put on a huge fake penis and tight pants? I don’t understand. It’s not a real penis. Even to the wearer, it doesn’t feel like a penis, look like a penis, function like one. You’re not constantly checking your pants throughout the day (and I don’t think you’re even supposed to pee through this one). The only purpose is to make it appear to other people that you have a penis. Comments are pretty evenly divided by the usual you should get even bigger dicks and pack even harder! and hey I’m a cis dude, and if my buddy was wearing tight pants and had an erection at a kids party I’d be telling him that’s weird, dude. Some people are calling her dad a pervert for even noticing, which is some backward logic if I’ve ever heard it.

A lot of the commenters say that the men have penises too and they don’t have to put them away, which of course not… they were born with those. And most of them aren’t wearing pants to emphasize their bulge.

The OP is 23 years old and claims to be “kinda closeted,” so I can’t imagine what her father is making of this behavior. He knows she’s a TIF I guess

I guess where I’m going with this is, what do you guys think about this? Is this sexual deviancy akin to AGPs? Is it insecurity? Does she want to be sexualized? I can’t make heads or tails of it.
