RaveClearing social feeds (finally)
I was daunted by the 2000+ accounts I followed on Instagram, but I finally got tired of seeing TRA and genderspecial content popping up on my feed and decided to narrow my following list en masse. Any pronouns, “TWAW”, or similar content in usernames or bios got an instant unfollow if not block.
I followed a lot of TRAs, TIM/TIFS, and “non-binary” people in my art/hobby communities when I started and was a huge handmaiden, and while I’ve been unfollowing lately as they appear, I’ve gotten sick of yet another TIM or “non-binary” woman appearing on my phone screen along with all the TRA nonsense that’s in the captions. I know it’s silly to only be doing it now, but I was intimidated by the huge number I had on that following list to narrow down, along with the worry of “what if they notice and ask me?”. I think I’ve finally hit the point of not caring, thanks mostly to all of you here helping me go from handmaiden to actually thinking and advocating for myself.
Again, it’s very small, but given how entrenched the hobby community is in TRA ideals, it feels so freshening to me now. Not exactly something I can post on that account either, but I do want to celebrate somehow!
