RaveTitle IX Injunction Far and Wide
Posted August 24, 2024 by Odo in GenderCritical

I just found out my workplace, though within a state not directly involved in a Title IX suit, does have members of the groups also protected by the Kansas ruling, so the new rules don't apply for now. I'm so glad! Not only for all of the women here, but also for my professional environment. Edit to add: the announcement about the injunction also does not paper over the conflict, noting the effects have to do with the sex-based protection being expanded to include gender identity. Breath of fresh air!

On that note, at recent kind of welcome event, where I was worried I'd be one of the few, or perhaps only person, without pronouns on my nametag, I discovered this to be quite common. It might even have been the majority.

After the Sall Grover loss and all it implies this was nice to find. I feel like perhaps we're at a crossroads, where the TRAs are getting ever more rabid, and erosions of women's, gay, and children's rights will continue on some fronts, while more people get informed, peak, and decline to participate at the same time.

I was also struck by the DNC marketing of Kamala Harris around being a woman and woman power, at least the bit I watched on Thursday. There was not much rainbow pandering-- it was almost like they're trying to pander under the rug. I hope that means with a Harris win the Dems will quietly walk back this nonsense, but I won't hold my breath, given all Kara Dansky has documented about her just not caring.
