Over the last couple years, a bike shop in my local community has replaced all women-centered events (rides, mechanic classes, etc.) with queer-centered events.
Today I got an email from them announcing a "TFNBQ+ Affinity Ride." They go on to explain that the ride is for "trans, femme, non-binary, and queer folks."
If "queer" is so inclusive, why the explicit mention of these other categories if not to make clear that regular ol' fashioned lesbian feminists are not welcome?
And can anyone tell me what "femme" means in this context? Ugh, it's so regressive and sexist I could puke. They're so far behind and still think they're first!
