I came across this thought provoking article about several large scale topics, but especially trans issues and the democratic establishment relationship to the Islamic regime of Iran - that seem too outrageous to be true, but are anyway. Despite the fact the the press is all but silent about it. I don't follow mainstream politics closely, and I don't think trump is particularly onto anything (other than his own ego) but I've also learned that just because he says it doesn't mean it's false.
Somehow this article helped me wake up to why most of (especially left leaning) America still doesn’t know or believe as true the things we talk about here every day, and helped me draw connections between what’s happening in peoples minds with the trans issue and other issues which are similarly as pressing and yet so often dismissed as unreal.
I've been slowly waking up to the idea that the news media is essentially the PR wing of the government at this point. We only hear what they want us to hear and what they want us to believe. I don't know what to do with that yet. But it does help remind me that I'm not crazy or out of touch, I just have the inner spidey-sense to not believe the propaganda.
