DiscussionHSTS vs AGPs: Should we keep using these terms?
So I have something to discuss regarding GC terminology which i was reminded of by a post the other day by someone who was talking about how they didn’t mind HSTS over AGPs.
I think it needs to be said that a lot of HSTS (in other words, effeminate gay men) are also autogynophiles. I know the distinction we use still exists, namely the divide between heterosexual and homosexual TIMs, but I think this can confuse some people.
I think that you can divide HSTSs further into those who are autogynophiles and those who aren’t. There are plenty of people who seem to think that gay men can’t be AGP. They absolutely can, and plenty of them desperately wanted to be treated like women and are sexually aroused of the idea of being a woman, being penetrated by a man, held down by him, made to feel weak in the face of his strength. All that stuff.
In some ways, we use HSTS/AGP to distinguish between old school transsexuals and the modern trender who took advantage of an older movement to gain public acceptance and worship of his fetish.
I know this all seems sort of nitpicky and pedantic, but gay TIMs are not all pure and innocent gay men who are caught up in “internalized homophobia.” Some of them are, maybe, and some of their reasonings might be more sympathetic than the straight men, but a lot of them fit right in with the pornsick ones. The reasons, the fears and desires, the need to fit the mold of “straight woman” or “lesbian.” The only difference is that they want to have sex with men instead of women, but pointing the sexual desire inward and needing external validation of it is the same.
