The Golden Globes awards are over and time to move onto the Oscars. Emilia Perez the movie about a drug cartel lord who transitions to become a TIM, won some awards but critics including some from Rolling Stones, GLAAD, and Pink News don't think much of the movie

The title from Rolling Stones review: Mexican film fans criticized the musical for being "full of stereotypes," while GLAAD called it a "step back" for transgender representation

What a surprise to me. I would never would have linked stereotyping to males who are transvestites or TIM. Rolling Stones Admittedly though the complaints are about stereotyping of Mexican people.

Pink News wrote the film, “loses all nuance when it comes to trans identity,”

GLAAD included reviews from multiple critics:

This is also the plot of Mrs. Doubtfire, but Mrs. Doubtfire is a good film because it understands how absurd the character is. Emilia Pérez doesn’t know how absurd she is.

Again I am surprised. TIMs understand how absurd their characters are?

But we need the largely (read almost entirely) cisgender voting bodies of awards season to tread carefully when embracing this narrative

Ah, a threat that brings to mind the attack from the trans community on the NY Times a few years ago. GLAAD

Karla Sofía Gascón, the TIM actor who plays both a man and a TIM in Emilia Perez gave a speech at the Golden Globes and he once again barely held back his sobs as he talked about how dangerous it is to be a TIM and how unfair life has been.

The NY Times is preparing for the Oscar win of Harper and Will This week there was an article about Harper's jewelry some of which his sister gave to him after he transitioned and other pieces perhaps stolen from his grandmother. I only skimmed the article so am not clear. Yes diamonds are a girls best friend and Harper mentions several times that he is connecting with his own and his family's feminine side. Being the awful person that I am I couldn't help but notice Harper's slightly club fingers. That's ok, ok and I should stop thinking about Norman Bates.

Got it done. Tip: it might not accept "send" at first, so just leave the letter there, go do something else, come back later. Should work then.

Excellent!

Absolutely! Done!

RealMapelFlavourJanuary 27, 2021

Thank you! Done!

I did, as well. They may be lost with the other captured American policy organizations, but I want them to know why they won't be getting support from me.

They won't switch back to defending women if women don't tell them we're angry at them for abandoning us.

I am shocked and horrified to see our women's organizations turn against us like this. This astroturf TRE lobby is a military-grade psy-up, just as analysts have been warning us. Liberal democracy is at war with the alt-right in cyberspace throughout the world, we just don't know it because we've never had a war like this before.

History books will be written about the part the TRE lobby played in this.

Done! "As a lifelong feminist activist, I am baffled at the absence of NOW when it comes to defending the civil rights, the human rights, of women and girls. We are oppressed on the basis of sex, not gender identity. A woman is not a feeling in a man's mind. It is the physical reality that every woman lives, every day. However "womanly" a man feels, however "girlish" he imagines himself to be, he is and will always be, a man. No amount of surgery and injected hormones will change that. Allowing men into women's sports, into women's prisons, into women's realms only works against us, while they take prizes, and receive validation and kudos for their "bravery". Poppycock. Time to speak out. Please help women and girls--we've hardly had the vote for 100 years, and sports for much less. Stand up for women's sex-based rights. "

I'm so pissed at NOW.

Everything women had to go through to launch organizations to defend our rights under patriarchy, and now that we've made them a powerhouse of our movement, they've just thrown us under the bus.

HessaHeinJanuary 28, 2021

I've sent my letter! Thanks for bringing this up!

My state's chapter of NOW is pro-TQ and supporting gender identity protections.

ElegantissimaJanuary 28, 2021

They all are.

That's why we HAVE to tell them what women want from them.

They've been infiltrated and indoctrinated. If we don't speak up, they'll never know we are enraged.
