When you can’t just instantly identify who you’re supposed to be “targeting” it causes people to engage their critical thinking which often triggers their empathy and humanises the individual whether they like it or not, which makes it much harder to then harm or dehumanise them further.

It’s actually an age old widely practiced psychological method as well. In the past for example people often wouldn’t name or gender children until they were at least 3 or 4, they would refer to them purely as it or “child”. Reason being the infant mortality rate was so high and allowing themselves to get emotionally attached like that would have likely destroyed them. In not acknowledging their humanity through the language they used when talking to and in reference to their child it allowed them to essentially step back emotionally and not be as attached/affected on an human level if harm/misfortune came to them. It’s also exactly why words like “female” are SO incredibly harmful tbh

While its true that some people waited to name their children for this reason. Nobody waited to "gender" their child until they were four years old. They didn't wait 3-4 years to assign a gender to their children. How would that even work? Especially once the child begins to talk and ask questions?

For a lot of women of this version of feminism, they've been convinced into thinking that "femininity" is what's being oppressed, not necessarily women. Society has failed to respect and treasure and elevate all things feminine equal to all things masculine, so these men in dresses are taking down the patriarchy by making men too confused to be bigoted towards frilly things and colorful nails and makeup. You're taking down the patriarchy when your eyeliner is sharp enough to cut a man. You're taking down the patriarchy when you go to Sephora and spend hundreds of dollars of the money you earned at the job where you don't get paid the same as your male coworker. Hard to say why that might be, but it's probably because your boss hates that your makeup and nails and hair look so good.
I wish I was joking, but I really think that's how they see the world. Femininity is good and valid, masculinity is bad and oppressive (unless it's a woman doing it, and then we evade answering whether that's good or bad), and men are just worried about being seen as gay and that's why the patriarchy exists.

There might be an argument that being non binary is subversive because that is literally bucking gender norms. But people have been bucking gender roles forever & never needed to make it their whole identity.

I can't find the thread ( i guess It got nuked by admins), but someone created a detailed chart of "bot" sorta activities on Reddit. You know those KH posts that hit front page and got 100k likes in 4 hour, those types.
That activity suddenly vanished come election results, but, it suddenly resumed come inauguration, with Elon pics. His pic got 110k + upvotes in 4 hours. And all the comments were from dormant account, which made 4-5 comments on karmafarming subs, lie dormant for 2-3 years, and then comment now.
And then came the coordinated ban X/twitter link posts. (Un)Surprisingly, there is some massive donor from D side who invested huge sums in BlueSky just a week ago.
PS : someone in that thread also claimed that a lot of top democrats who had internal polling numbers bet against KH on betting sites like Polymarket, and made a lot of money

Granted most of the comments seem to be from established accounts. But even some of them are expressing surprise at how quickly it got upvoted. More than Champions League posts!

That’s what happens when you remove a word, another one will be used to describe that being or concept. If we can’t use women , we’ll say biological women, if we can’t use biological we’ll use cis, if we can’t use cis we’ll use AFAB and when that cannot be used either we’ll stick to females to make a distinction between males.

Reading about Afghan women as of recently not being allowed to speak to one another, from the comfort of my secular society in which women may not refer to one another as women, is a mood.
This fight actually goes back even farther, At least 40 years. In my 1986 Webster's New World Dictionary under the definition of woman, it mentions that "female" as a noun is seen as "mildly contemptuous".
Interesting! The only time I ever really heard female growing up (before the creepy incels thing became popular) was in reference to animals or in biology books. Fascinating how growing up in different areas can affect local vernacular.
