RantDisappointing observation on School Social Media.

I'm in University, and recently signed up for a 'student connect' forum for my school. I can scroll through the page, see photos of other students, their names, and what their majors will be.

Every. Single.Tim. Is going to school for... Elementary Education.

Elementary Education!

What is their obsession with children? Is it the old school misogyny that every woman either had to be a Teacher, Nurse, or housewife??

I feel concern that the only reason they chose that major is simply for validation and to indoctrinate children, or perhaps to get close to them for nefarious reasons.

Why can't they leave the kids alone? It's so telling. I have yet to see a Tif, and when I do I very much wonder what their majors would be.

It's frustrating looking up these mens' profiles on other sites and seeing all of the gross photos they take attempting be sexy or cute. Of course, all of the comments hug-boxing them. Eugh.

I had to vent somewhere.

Start whisper networks ladies. If you see something, say it to someone trustworthy who may have some power, at least to warn others

I’m going to fudge details here to stay anonymous. But I knew a creepy TiM dude who was wanting to go into a therapy field that mainly involves kids. I told a therapist I was seeing at the time, and she was like “Absolutely not will he work with kids.” (Trust me, he had super creepy behavior, this was beyond him being “enby”) And asked for his name. Therapists have whisper networks, teachers do too.

I know that teachers do too, because this TiM was working as a teacher at the time and got fired for a seemingly bullshit reason. What likely happened was he was severely mentally ill and it was obvious, and the school was looking for any reason to fire him.

I remember someone here (don't remember who) saying that people who go into education are often ideologically-driven because the pay isn't good enough to justify it otherwise. And, if you were a TiM who felt really passionate about making the world safer and more welcoming for you and other men like you to live their fetish 24/7, I can't think of a better way to do that than indoctrinating children.

LonelyKindredPolitically HomelessFebruary 3, 2025

Another thing to add to the pile of reasons to why we should please pay teachers more...

CharliXXFebruary 3, 2025

I read teachers in the US pay for their own school supplies with their meagre income wtf

that said not all the tea in china would get me to teach in a post-phone, post-gentle parenting world. no way, no how.

My friend's son, a TiM with anger issues, was studying an adjacent field because he wanted to help children be their authentic selves (yes, groom them to be like him). I don't believe he's a pedophile but I do see him as extremely unsuitable to be around children (he wants them to boost his ego, I think). Thank goodness his inability to get things done meant he was kicked out of school.

CharliXXFebruary 3, 2025

your poor friend :(

HollyhockFebruary 3, 2025

Yeah....he was one of those COVID trans late teens. He's always struggled w/ mental health stuff and will even admit he had no gender dysphoria as a child .Though that changes at times as he lies a lot, the kind of lies where he should realize people see through him. Like he tried to claim his hand was small like a woman's by, I kid you not, bending his lower hand back some and covering the base w/ his other. Something a 4-year-old would do, but he tried this as a 18 year old. So, I don't know if he has autism or some Cluster B or some other kind of undiagnosed (or not revealed to me) condition. He's almost shockingly naive and arrogant at the same time. In his situation, trans seems like just another symptom for whatever it is he's dealing with. He's extremely privileged (private schools, white, intact loving family unit) so maybe something happened w/ peers or some adult we don't know about or it's genetic...I honestly don't know why. It's absolutely devastated his parents and larger family group. He's so embarrassing for them. I'm the type of person who loves weird, loves counter culture, am drawn to unique, nonconforming, irreverent people...but that's not what trans is. Trans is uncanny valley plus anger plus anti-social behavior intended to frighten, control and creep people out beyond some bog-standard youth shock value. It's uncomfortable on some deeper level that just counter-culture rebellion, probably because we're not supposed to so radically alter our bodies to the point where they are unhealthy vs. aesthetic only changes like tattoos or head shaving or piercings. Couple that w/ our instinctual knowledge of who is what sex.

CharliXXFebruary 4, 2025

Oof. Covid really did a number on so many vulnerable young adults. I've always been a counter culture weirdo myself but that shit was cool. This is just so incredibly embarrassing. Childish, ignorant, porn-soaked, fragile and arrogant. No wonder they've made no great art so far.

I was watching an interview with a somewhat controversial Irish journo and he said something I thought was great - that he could accept that he was wrong about current youth culture if they at least seemed to have as much fun and were as happy as he was as a bog standard normal teen, listening to music and unsuccessfully chasing girls. And they very loudly tell us they're not.

HollyhockFebruary 4, 2025

The lack of great art from this subculture is such a great point!

I have yet to see a Tif, and when I do I very much wonder what their majors would be.

I went to a friend's graduation last year, and all of the TIFs graduating had master's degrees in education.

sicktodeathFebruary 3, 2025

Reaaaallllly not beating the grooming kids allegations

shewolfoffrance🦕February 3, 2025

Yes. I've seen more than a few Libs of TikTok videos of TiF teachers.

CattitudeFebruary 3, 2025

Their obsession is paedophilia.

marmaladestripes725February 3, 2025

Huh. I’ve worked in education, and I’ve known one TIM who was an aide and one TIF who was a sub. The TIM was a middle-aged dude who was taking classes to be an English teacher and dressed like Mrs. Doubtfire. The TIF was a longterm sub covering a maternity leave who quickly got involved in the school GSA. She claimed she got fired for being trans. I was never certain of my principal’s stance, but she also didn’t have any capacity for supporting employees who had room to grow. I wouldn’t be surprised if the TIF was fired for dress code because she still had her breasts and insisted on wearing crop tops to work. She was also subbing for a special ed teacher, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she messed up something with IEPs.

VirginiaWolfberryFebruary 3, 2025

No issues personally with a primly dressed and otherwise respectful TIM teaching. It is the sexualisation and indoctrination that is disturbing.

littleowl12February 3, 2025

I do. TIFs too. It spreads the social contagion to kids.

CattitudeFebruary 5, 2025

A TIM is by definition not respectful.

vampfaceFebruary 2, 2025

Jesus Christ! There are some annoying TIMs at my school but most of them are in male dominated fields (engineering/STEM... I know of one in PoliSci.) TIFs here are usually doing something art related. I'm sorry for you and scared for the kids in your area... 😬

WhiteDragonsFebruary 3, 2025

Paraphilias cluster, and if they’re AGPs, well.

HollyhockFebruary 3, 2025

All teachers have to have criminal background checks. If you can, you can send anonymous messages to school districts that you don't think x should be allowed around children. Like the comment about whisper networks. It's like what we do to protect women from rape - if we know a man has raped someone we know but he's not going to go to jail for it, we whisper to our community about him.

sicktodeathFebruary 3, 2025

That is incredibly alarming.

LillithFebruary 3, 2025(Edited February 3, 2025)

That's really interesting. I wonder if the lower pay will get to them or if female teachers may begin to quit in droves.

I knew a TIM who was an elementary teacher. He said he got fired after he came out as trans. The school was in West Virginia.

Rue [OP]Egg ProducerFebruary 3, 2025

Good, they already knew he would be trouble and would start grooming those kids.

LillithFebruary 3, 2025

Yep. I wasn't peaked at the time and I thought their reaction was strange.

xxsunflowerFebruary 3, 2025

Interesting! Most TIMs at my college seem to be majoring in Communication or CompSci, but the state as a whole is rather conservative, and against indoctrination in classrooms, so that seems to be a somewhat good deterent.

OxyToxinFebruary 3, 2025

I'm sure it's a mix of motivations for TIMs and TIFs, although I wonder if your school has a subculture of some sort that appeals to TIM Elementary Education majors. Maybe graduates tend to end up in the same TIM-friendly enclave, or a TIM TikToker had a great experience with the program. Hopefully it's just an unfortunate quirk of your school and there aren't any hidden incentives beyond the stereotypical reasons TIPs insist on being around a captive audience of children.

Rue [OP]Egg ProducerFebruary 3, 2025

The basis of my school is it's all online, so I think not having to interact in person with people who would give them the side-eye encourages it.

OxyToxinFebruary 3, 2025

Yes, that's a good point. Hopefully you don't have to see them on video-conference.

WatcherattheGatesFebruary 2, 2025

Oh, noooooooo . . .

pennygadgetFebruary 3, 2025

Ugh. That is terrifying.

[Deleted]February 3, 2025

Oh gross :(
