I am aware that this is a minor thing. Some of you may call this a non-issue. However, I will explain why this irks me so much.
The idea of a boy/man in a dress calling themselves an inanimate object that's generally for little girls feels weird and fetishy to me.
A man essentially comparing himself to a plastic representation of an idealized (I hope) woman is...weird, and par for the course for TIMs.
Especially when half the time I feel that the kind of dolls they're alluding to are of the naughty kind...which feels even weirder?
So.... you think womanhood is about superficial appearance and only about sex appeal??? What i'm saying is that it's weird and creepy either way.
Not to mention the strong correlation of the bimbo aesthetic and TIMS. Yes there are women who participate in these things, but you can't deny that a lot of TIMS have a very creepy, hypersexual, plastisized way of representing themselves.
It's also almost a self-tell because you're essentially saying you're not a real woman and just a hollow and plastic representation of one. It feels like it's cheapening what being a woman is?
It's always rubbed me the wrong way. Something about it rubs me as a strange sort of self-objectification?? that...I don't like???
It may be just me?
And I find it really funny, because very few TIMS are dainty and delicate like the name would suggest, but like dolls, they are just a shallow representation of womanhood at best? so maybe they have a point?
I do know the words become removed from their original meanings, but this one has always rubbed me a weird way for some reason. It is not being used in the same context as an old southern lady being sweet and calling you "doll", it just feels off to me.
